I am trying to keep squirrels out of my potted garden and I have to admit I am in awe of their curiosity and determination. At first, my concern was all the cats that like to use the planters for a litter box, but it is easy to keep cats out compared to squirrels.
I guess we are a little different in regard to the squirrel thing. My wife and I love and feed squirrels In the back yard. In fact a few years ago we got one in the yard that had a terrible case of mange. The poor thing was almost naked. I found a remedy, dipped walnuts in it and tossed them to him. His fur grew back and we celebrated his recovery. (-8

My word I've never heard this kind of noise from a squirrel!!!
Hawk, a couple of years ago when I had my patio door open, I heard what sounded like a duck, or perhaps a goose. I was perplexed because I knew neither could be on our premises. When I looked outside, a squirrel had climbed up the wall, was hanging there bucking it's tail and making that noise! I wondered if it was trying to give birth or something.

Squirrels have been hanging out on my patio for decades and that's the first time I ever heard that sound. I heard it again another time and no more since.
