What can one say? It’s not that we don’t care. We need GUN CONTROL. I can’t stand to read these things anymore. These things are becoming so common they aren't getting many comments here, or making front page headlines... sad

Yep, some kind of toxic male 'ego' boosting fantasy. After the end of the draft the U.S. Armed Forces became all volunteer...starting developing cult-like attraction. Then came the fake Veterans and fake patriots, predominately young males that wern't properly nurtured when young, turn to street gangs, domestic terror groups, become lone wolves etc.So why buy an AR? I have to believe that for many owners it is little more than a symbol of masculinity. Ban the damn things and perhaps the next school shooter will think twice before he plans a massacre?
My Ruger Mini 14 semi-auto, fires .223 & 5.56 rounds, has wooden stock...it's considered a ranch rifle. All the wazu, tricked out military effects don't make a rifle more effective, target acquisition does.Believe what you want to believe, I have shot both and I’ll take the Sig Sauer 516 into combat over the AR-15. I would prefer the M400 Tread. I don’t have a need to spread someone’s guts all over the landscape, I just want to be able to load and go. If you have never shot the 516, you should at least try it.
That’s correct. Like the other fellow said, you don’t have to blow their guts all over the landscape. So long as your weapon can do what it’s engineered to do, that’s what matters. I have a number of weapons, both pistols and rifles, but people keep asking why do you have so many weapons. There is a reason, but I’ll keep it to myself. My Ruger Mini 14 semi-auto, fires .223 & 5.56 rounds, has wooden stock...it's considered a ranch rifle. Of course, but government confiscation is a well worn scary fairytale, peddled by the usual extremist sources. At last estimate, there are 490,000,000 weapons in the U.S. If the government tried to collect all these weapons, it would be an impossible task.
For the time being, we do need gun control. Longer waiting periods, better psychological check-ups, turn up the age limit to own some guns, like the owner must be 25 or over to own an AR-15 or any AR. Limit the amount of ammo per purchase. It’s not much, but it’s a start.
No, the money is too big, the NRA is safe. But, they lost my respect when they chose to become a corrupting force politically.Doing away with the NRA is no answer.
Actually it would. Cut the head off and the body will die. The NRA is peddling 2A for their own interests to maintain their political power and financial well being at the expense of innocent Americans.Doing away with the NRA is no answer.
Loss of human life means absolutely nothing to many of these people, like the gentleman in the utoob, post #27.......it's "mah rawts!!!" So the tourism industry is the last thing on their mind.everyone seems to all know the right answers and solutions but they just dpn't seem to be able to execute them? - has there been any research ever done to show it seriously effects tourism?
The first four only kill over a period of time!Yes, "Gun Culture" says it all! The Russians have their vodka, the French have their cognac, the Italians have their pasta, the English have their tea and the "Americans" have their guns. Some things are just so slow to change!
Perhaps you're "misremembering?" Or it was an attempt at sarcasm?I n response to the query regarding my post re legality in some states about carrying a gun in your car - just been reading a handful of threads and of course all states have different laws - but couldn't find anything about you must carry a gun? - all I can remember is watching a doco and a driver being interviewed did comment that it was illegal not to carry a gun - obviously lying then?
You realize the 2nd Amendment was directed at your lot. The founders were afraid that the Brits would come back, or possibly, other countries might invade. Of course, 'gun people' won't acknowledge the original intention of the amendment. That makes the subject political which can't be discussed on this forumView attachment 285030
As an outsider I would suggest that whilst the second amendment is set in stone these killings will go on. Rarely do I comment on such subjects, it happened outside of the UK, so best keep my thoughts to myself. For what it's worth though, my wife and I crossed the pond regularly for many years. That all ended when we came close to an incident involving a firearm. We were neither involved, nor witnessed anything but it was close enough to leave the gun culture, head home and stay here.
Well had to go to ggl translate on the "fair dinkium mate", I meant sarcasm on the part of the person saying so on the "doco."no sarcasm fair dinkum mate!! - I couldn't believe what I was hearing and it has stuck for ever it seems?
He's making my point. There are so many guns out there that people feel they have to have one as well in order to protect themselves from their armed neighbors. America is never going to be free of guns. Best thing you can hope for is an eventual ban on assault rifles! Why do so many of you want to say it's America in general?
The vast majority are still law abiding citizens.
And our forefathers wanted to protect us from bad tea. Oh, and bad teeth. You realize the 2nd Amendment was directed at your lot. Unfortunately, certain individuals and groups in government also want, and have shown such, by their actions, that they want to change the USA to be like China.
Good Lord, the dystopian future is already here! You violated your own constitution in so many of your "solutions" it's just scary! The USA "is" a violent country and Mexico is worse. Several other countries are much worse.
In the USA we have the right, usually, to protect our own life and the lives of others with guns.
I have had several near misses with violent murderous people in my life.
The violent criminals will always have access to lethal weapons. Unfortunately, certain individuals and groups in government also want, and have shown such, by their actions, that they want to change the USA to be like China.
So yes, the USA citizens need to keep their protection.
The laws and lawyers of the USA, create harmful "precedents" which can then be used to reduce freedom. This is why both political parties fight against new laws where the intention is to reduce the aims of the other. It kind of sucks, and common sense is discarded.
Lock up violent criminals, including teens, and throw away the key.
Put armed police in every school and create a sanctuary for children.
Separate bullies from normal children so they don't create vengeful monsters.
Ban the violent video games and movies that warp the minds of young people.
Put sellers and buyers of hard drugs in their own jail. Dry up the gang and cartel trade.
Provide basic simple free food and housing to everyone so people don't flip out from getting fired and loss of life's basics.
This will stop at least 80% of a violent murderous future.
Nothing says they have a right to AR-15's or any other military guns.View attachment 285030
