Another baby dies in a hot car, left there by her Grand Mother.

I don't know how you can leave a baby in back seat EVER! No excuse for it in my opinion. I bet they don't leave their cell phone any place for one min! People make too many excuses oh I am stressed, I had so much on my mind , I was in a hurry an on and on and on.... get your baby out of the car you sure get yourself out of a hot car. I am just fed up with innocent kids paying the price for a lack of good judgement by whomever is in charge of them.

Hey…my mother once drove off and left my sister and i at a gas station. Took about thirty minutes for my brother to ask if she was ever going back. She was HUMILIATED !!! Crap happens. It was a tragedy. She should have our sympathy and prayers.

Since this was the Grandmother, one would think that if she had mental health conditions or brain fog from medications, that the parents wouldn't permit her to watch their child, but perhaps they may not know the extent of the GM's absent mindedness. But then again, I realize that we all make mistakes. Fortunately most of them have small consequences, but not always. I wonder if there are any on SF whose parents forgot them somewhere, and had to come back for them. That happens too.
Yep. Mom once took the whole family out for a car trip and forgot me.

I have often read in the newspaper, about a policeman having
to break a window of a car, because a dog was left in it on a
hot day!

Oddly I have never heard of a similar rescue of any child left
in a hot car.

I don't know if it doesn't happen, or if they don't want to upset
people, but I am sure that it does happen.

Mike
I think a dog may be more visible, perhaps barking or yipping in distress. A baby low in a seat carrier would not even be heard if they were making any sound.

It happens here in the US.

Arizona man was trapped in his Tesla on a 100 degree day; here's how to get out

"An Arizona man told a Phoenix TV station that he was trapped inside his Tesla Model Y during a 100-degree day with no knowledge of how to get out.

"I couldn't open the doors. I couldn't lower the windows," Rick Meggison, a 73-year-old resident of Peoria told ABC-15. "The computer was dead, so I couldn't open the glove box. I couldn't open anything."

Meggison said his lithium-ion battery had plenty of range on it, but a 12-volt battery inside the vehicle that powers the items that weren't running was dead. A Tesla service center's recommendation was to replace that battery."

Perhaps EVs will be next problem when battery operating doors dies......... it traps adults.

As someone already mentioned it tends to happen when the routine is different and often people are hurrying to get to work. Knowing it’s a possibility it would be smart for everyone to put whatever they will take with them when they stop into the backseat as a precaution whether it’s a phone, purse, briefcase, etc. Better safe than sorry.

There’s no way I would ever forget my dogs in the car. We have two keys so we leave one in the car so we can keep the air conditioner going and check on them frequently.

Looks like you got caught there @jimintoronto, trolling this forum with a two year old story September 11, 2021 2:49am so you can rant and rave about guns again and bash the USA? Be better. You reflect poorly on the good Canadian people.
I can assure you all, this man's anti-American posts are an embarrassment to most Canadians. I'm not in agreement with gun laws in the USA either but I understand why they are what they are. Not my place to comment on that as a Canadian. We have enough issues here in Canada for me to comment on. Unfortunately most are political so that's a no-go.

It truly is an embarrassment
I feel the same about the gun laws and have commented on it a few times which I now regret. Canada has many issues. My man thinks Trudeau is a real fruitcake but I won’t say why. Lol

Our country is far from perfect also, I'm born and raised in the US and very happy to have lived my life here. I always said if I ever was going to move out of the US, which I won't, it would definitely be a move to beautiful Canada. I appreciate you and your posts. ☮️

Thank you Mr. Pants.
