Hi everyone! I`ve been a member of an online community for about eight years now but it seems to be fading away, what with Facebook and all now,I`m guessing. The ladies there are,for the most part, young enough to be my daughters,so I thought I`d look around for "friends my own age " ;).

I live in Northern California,on the shores of the largest natural lake in the state. It was where we had a summer cabin when I was growing up and I was lucky enough to be able to move here permanently 22 years ago. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Been married to my guy for 46 years-since I was 17 and a senior in high school. Now have 4 kids, 14 1/2 grandkids and an awesome granddaughter in law.

Hubby still works full time-well,he retired 3 years ago but decided a year ago that it wasn`t for him so he went back to work part time. Now he`s working full time LOL. We owned a body shop for 34 years and worked together all that time so it`s weird for him not having me there but I tell him he`ll adjust :)

I love animals-large and small, sports, especially if the grandkids are playing ,camping ,boating, cooking and hanging out with the 30 and 40 year olds-they keep us young!

Welcome, and don't worry about the rain, I am sending some of mine!

No,no rain here at all and it`s getting scary. We have a huge pond "next door" that "normally" extends across three properties and right to the edge of ours. It`s very nearly a puddle now. I`ve seen enough droughts in my lifetime to know that it WILL rain eventually but I`m getting nervous about our well holding out.....

CeeCee,my son ,grandson and son in law all work in Fresno frequently. My son is working in Merced at the moment-he is a power pole inspector.. Son in law is a lineman with PG&E and grandson is an apprentice lineman with a smaller power company.

Welcome to the forum Mrs. Robinson, sounds like you live in a very nice spot. I also love animals and the outdoors. Get comfy, looking forward to hearing more from you! :welcome:

WELCOME Mrs. Robinson. I remember you from the movie with Dustin Hoffman. WOO HOO!

Seriously, I'm glad you're here among us Californians (I'm down in L.A.)

Hi Mrs Robinson and Welcome to our friendly, happy forum.....

Thank you all for the welcome! Diwundrin,I have an online friend in Australia and she tells me that you are in the midst of a drought as well. Hopefully your winter will bring you some rain-we`re in the middle of our winter right now and every day is 70 degrees or warmer without a cloud in the sky. Ugh.

Fran-love the central coast area. SLO maybe?

It's been in the upper 70's/80's here for the past two weeks. No rain. NO FOG either. That is rare for this neck of the woods, as I am sure you know. NO FOG??? I miss it.
No spring this time. Straight in to summer, I think. Which means the valley is going to be SOCKED with smog and heat.

We are so glad to have you, Mrs. Robinson. I totally understand about the younger crowd forums, nothing in common. This is a great group and I'm sure you'll love it. We have a lot of new members which always makes it more interesting, and the international flavor is hard to beat.

Make yourself at home....:)
