Another great song from the 60s

Most 60's songs are great.
Simple lyrics, simple tunes, pure voices
Rhythm of the Falling Rain
Sung by a man whose lover has left him; the rain falling reminds him 'what a fool' he has been.
He rhetorically asks the rain for answers, but ultimately he wishes it would 'go away' and let him cry alone.
The Cascades - Rhythm of the Falling Rain 1962

The first Kinks recording produced solely by Ray Davies, Melodic and hauntingly nstalgic
.
I just posted this song the other day on the Terence Stamp death post...

He for a time was involved with the actress Julie Christie.. and Ray Davies of the kinks supposedly wrote about it in the song with the line.. ''Terry meets Julie, Waterloo Station Every Friday night''

Tell me when = The Applejacks
.

This clip was taken from the film, “Just For You”.
Hailing from the Birmingham area in the UK, the Applejacks signed with Decca in 1963 and reached the UK Top-10 with their debut single, “Tell Me When”.

With ground-breaking bass player Megan Davies a prominent figure, “Just For You” was essentially a collection of video clips hosted by UK DJ, Sam Costa.

a small sad story about Crosby Stills & Nash....

On a YT video , a comentator stated that in her youth her boyfriends' very rich parents paid for CSN to play at his 30th Birthday Party, where she and her friends had a wonderful time never to be forgotten.. she then goes on to state that she's now in her 70's and all her friends have died, and she's the only one left with the memories... :(

Sobering thought !

I first heard this at age 14 (15 maybe?) when I saw the film Quadrophenia. It was the beginning of a lifetime love of 60s pop music.
