Another Mass Shooting 5/26/21

I'm assuming you mean the USA.

You know who has a culture of gun violence? Almost every country south of the USA, and also South Africa. In those countries gun deaths are twice, three times, and six times higher than us.
Oh well, if that makes you feel better!

Thoughts, prayers and flowers.

What else is new in the US? I am not surprised by any mass shootings any more, I used to feel sick but since Americans don't care neither do I.

Of course we care, mrstime. We're always pushing for solutions, we're just kind of split on the best course of action. About half of us want an end to our right to own guns, and about 100% of us want an end to early prison release of violent criminals, a crack-down on street-gang activity, better public education, and better, more effective psychiatric care, drug rehab, and family counseling.

If you really care you would have words with your politicians about the bribes from the NRA.

It seems that hardly a day goes by without another report of a mass shooting somewhere in the US. Locally, both Kansas City and St. Louis are on track to set new records for shootings and homicides. Couple that with more police officers quitting, or retiring, and more cities taking steps to reduce funding for the police, and I see nothing but this madness continuing And increasing.

The U.S. is a big country and shootings don't happen on every street corner. Usually it's in cities which have high population densities where everyone is in each others way leading to stress, stress and more stress until somebody blows. It's like road rage without the roads.

There’s always a back story, apparently he had some kind of issue at his work place.
It’s more of a mental illness issue than a gun issue and since there’s no quickā€ fixā€ for mental illness and many institutions opened their doors it’s not touched.
Let’s see, do we blame the car for the drunk driver that mowed down 6 people?

Sam Cassidy was a legal gun owner. I wonder about people going to work daily and having to think about if a co-worker is going to start shooting at anytime. Would that be called co-worker paranoia?

"His ex-wife, Cecilia Nelms, told The Associated Press that Cassidy had a bad temper and would tell her that he wanted to kill people at work, ā€œbut I never believed him, and it never happened. Until now.ā€
Nelms, teary-eyed and shaken by the news, said her ex-husband would come home wound up and angry about things that happened at work. As he talked about it, ā€œhe would get more mad,ā€ she said. ā€œHe could dwell on things.ā€

The improvements you mention cost money. Spending money is what they're avoiding.

Several revealing charts in this article. USA leads first world countries in gun violence.

Somewhat ironic that Americans buy guns for protection yet they end up shooting themselves. Suicides by gun are almost double homicides by gun.

Yes, I can't tell you how many times I've shot myself.
It's more & more painful each time.
I hate it when that happens.
