It went off at 8:15 pm and came back just before 10:30 pm. Had to reset electric clocks and re-boot TV cable box. I can't sleep without the TV on. What a pain!

Ours was out for 6 hours two days ago!! We used our phone flashlights and candles.

debodun, you live a few 100 miles north of me. We got the same line of storms with 70 mile/hour winds. All night long, they kept interrupting TV with storms warnings.

Yes, for now.
The weather wasn't that bad here - no really high wind or lightning. There was 0.7 inches of rain in my gauge. We've received much more than that at times and nothing happened to the power. There was nothing about it on the morning news or online.

I sent an email to the mayor and was surprised she answered so quickly (being a Sunday) giving the cause (which I don't understand anyway):
Insulator broke on distribution (4800 voltage) portion and burned pole off. Crews are replacing the pole this morning but can do without interruption.

That went over my head, too. What does "Crews . . . can do without interruption" mean? Does she think you're going to personally go out there and start to pester them?

I understood that to mean there won't be another outage because of the work. The word "it" should have been between "do" and "interruption".What does "Crews . . . can do without interruption" mean? Does she think you're going to personally go out there and start to pester them?
