As a 1099 recipient I got two from the company I work for. One is the 1099-NEC (non-employee compensation). The other is the 1099-K.
Does anyone here know which one I should use for my business income, OR can you direct me to a site that will tell me the legal basis for using the NEC vs. the 1099-K? (not the IRS site please - their publications make me want to cry with their extreme detail).
Second question - have you ever found FREE tax help for Seniors, like from AARP or some other organization, and were they actually helpful? I don't want to make an appointment for free help and then someone is going to condescendingly throw my numbers into software. I have already done that. What I really need is a tax professional who can and will answer this one question and not charge me $200 for the answer.
Thanks.
