Anybody using Red Light Therapy?

I looked into it and stopped when most credible sites said things like this:

Most experts say that they don’t know yet if RLT is effective for all its claimed uses. Most say that the studies published so far show some potential for certain conditions, but that more studies need to be conducted. Red light therapy is still an emerging treatment that’s generating growing interest. But at this point in time, there’s not enough evidence to support most uses.

I only know about copper knee sleeves, which I use for knee pain.
They do help with walking.

Red Light Therapy for Peripheral Neuropathy

Red light therapy (RLT) is a non-invasive treatment that has shown promise in managing peripheral neuropathy, a condition that can cause pain, numbness, and tingling in the arms and legs.23 Research indicates that RLT may help reduce inflammation, pain, and improve nerve conduction velocity in patients with peripheral neuropathy.234 The therapy works by promoting the growth and function of nerve cells, enhancing blood flow to affected areas, and stimulating cellular repair and regeneration.45 Additionally, RLT can be used at home, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for those seeking relief from neuropathy symptoms.5 However, it is often recommended as a complementary approach to traditional neuropathy treatments, and consulting a healthcare provider before starting RLT is advised.

I have been using a red light therapy pad since 2004 — on my horses first, then myself and my dogs.

Mine is made in America, just outside Nashville, TN.

The first one was still going strong 12 or so years later, until I got careless and dropped it in the water bucket in the stall.

I called the manufacturer who had one in express mail to me the next day. That one is still going strong.

I can only afford the 6” x 9” pad but it works well.

Yeah I know it doesn say anything about human therapy but it works fantastic anyway. I had sepsis in one leg years ago and the doctor could not believe how fast my leg cleared up and became normal and normal color. I said G it must be the red Light Therapy pad for my horses that I’ve been using on my leg. As usual when I make a comment in that vein he pursed his lips and didn’t say anything. He hates to admit when I’m right.

I also have a cold laser gun that I use on one horse who doesn’t like the therapy pad. It was cheap for a cold laser gun but $700 is not cheap for me. Thankfully husband bought it for me as a Christmas present for which I have always been grateful because I use it a lot as well.

I have yet to find that anything copper is good for anything but taking money out of my checkbook. I hope it helps others, but in my world it’s useless.

I have been using it for years, since around 2006,
when I retired, I couldn't really afford to buy the
equipment, so I built my own, Electrical Engineer,
was my title when I still worked.

First I built a red light panel for around £50, when
the asking price for a built one was $1,200.00 for
a 4 foot X 1 ft, panel, since then I got a red light
torch for the eyesight, then I built another panel,
black light this time, I am working on a "Black Light
Helmet", which is reputed to help with Alzheimer's,
Parkinson's, M.N.D, or anything to do with the brain.

They have used red light therapy in Russia, since 1909
and if you visit a doctor there, you are more likely to
get a red light session, than to be given a prescription
for drugs, this was confirmed by a friend, who, has a
Russian Doctor friend in London.

It is difficult to believe that light can heal, but it really
can.

This has peaked my interst, and I have a question about it. @Mike @Michael Z

Does it affect your heart, and/or blood pressure in any way?

I ask because my heart will ‘race’ when I’ve tried to use things like a plug-in foot soaker that has vibrating motion.
Also, those bike pedaling machines where you just plug-in and sit and pedal.

They both seemed innocent enough, but caused me heart palpitations.

I am not on any heart meds. Usually don’t need them for nornal BP readings.

It is only light, different colours do different things,
I never noticed anything, except feeling better, for
whatever reason, I was using the lights, they take
pain away swiftly, until I used the Black Light Panel,
then I felt warm, there had been nothing wrong with
me, when I tried it out, but, after only 5 minutes I
felt nice and warm.

The Ski Slopes in Austria, according to a friend, have
near infrared panels attached to seats, you put €2
in a slot and get 30 minutes, of sitting against them,
they take away all aches and pains caused by coming
downhill, you keep your gear on, as the light penetrates
the clothing.

I doubt if it does, but I don’t know for sure. My doctor told me it was fairly harmless, although he did not think it would provide any benefit.

Never underestimate the placebo effect, or your body's natural healing ability.

Horses and dogs don’t understand the placebo affect.

I have seen how it helps them when used in the circumstances it is meant to be used.

Then there’s the matter of my leg healing so fast, after swelling up from sepsis and I spent three days in the hospital, after using the red light pad religiously for a week ahead of my follow up appointment with the doctor.
