Anyone else have a housekeeper come in?

Earlier this year, knowing I would be incapacitated for a while, I hired someone to come to help me with cleaning. Mostly floors, changing the bed, and doing the bathroom. Just to help me with things that are harder for me.
She came today to do a good cleaning, as my annual apartment inspection is tomorrow, and I knew that even though I was gone for a month, it needed a good freshening up.
I am going to have her come weekly for the summer. at least. She said she would help me with laundry as well. She does a good job.
It helps me out a lot and I know I will pass inspection tomorrow.

I've had mixed results. Maybe let your housekeeper know not to come if she isn't feeling well.

I know your place is very small by the pictures you showed when you moved in... but when you're incapacitated everything is too big of a job, so it's good idea to get someone into clean, and then it doesn't stress you not being able to keep it as nice as you'd like

Pre-Covid I had someone come in once a month. It was nice to have her here, and she did a lot of things that I don't like to do.
She has since stopped working but said if I ever needed her for anything to just call. And I would do that.
I'm glad you have someone while you are recuperating.

I have been thinking about doing that too perhaps twice a month but wondering about the cost.
Do they work on a daily basis or by the hour ?

I had a good one , 34 yrs/old did a really nice job ...... $25,00 p/hour, even shoveled snow . But she aquired a new boyfriend ..... and together they were going to move so ? .........

Mine will be coming once a week, and charges hourly. $20 an hour. But she figures once she has a weekly routine, should only be a couple hours a week
That seems very reasonable rate. Even 2/3 hours twice a month would help with all those jobs that seem to be a great big chore for me now.
I get tired even thinking about it

I have a team that comes once a month and it works out. It's just me and the cat so it works out for 2 hrs, gives me a little socialization too since I'm a shut-in. I don't drive anymore and sold my vehicle last year. I can't afford more than once per month.

After mom passed away dad wasn't able to do certain things so he's hired someone to come help with the things he can't do. His neighbors bring him food a lot. They look out for him. Sometimes mom's bestie brings food too. I can't be there to help him so he has no choice.

How I wish that Mom had qualified help when she started exhibiting signs of Dementia. My sisters and I knew nothing about Dementia. My oldest sister moved in to take care of her for about a year before placing her in a nursing home because Mom was very aggressive. I stayed with her after my brother's passing and almost had a nervous breakdown. The home health nurses that came to check on her were worried about me as I couldn't eat, sleep because of being yelled and mistreated all day and night. I'll always regret not understanding her illness at the time.
