Anyone left that still thinks the lottery is on the up and up.

We don't have as far to go, as we've already been
They couldn’t do the draw on Monday until all the participating state machines were active. MN had a glitch so it was delayed. That would make it more honest. No tickets sold were left out.

Sure hope it’s a a group purchase so a whole lot of people become rich.

I am not a believer of the Powerball lottery being on the up and up.

But' I still on a rare occassion purchase tickets.

So, what about the millions of tickets that were sold before this announcement by folks believing that there was to be a huge payout on Wednesday ? Because I'm sure not everyone buy's a ticket the day before the drawing

I’m not sure what you’re saying. Tickets are sold until cutoff time on Tuesday. The draw couldn’t happen until every number was in the system. The draw was delayed and then they drew the number on Wednesday. There’s a winner, it was just delayed.

Don't you mean they drew the numbers on Tuesday? That's today.

Have never ever bought a lottery ticket. Voted today against two state propositions for allowing sports book gambling in Indian casinos. Hate the lottery processes and their willing media pushers making a big deal of accumulating largest jackpots. Instead of that $2 billion dollar prize going to one person, much better would have been a system with 2,000 happy winners of $1,000,000. Many people buying those tickets tend to not have much wealth and would be happy if their chances of actually occasionally winning were not astronomically impossible.

I have always been suspicious of the lottery. I have been told there is no way they can cheat, but we all know that's b.s. since it was done in Pennsylvania back a long time ago Two guys rigged the balls, so that the numbers '666' would come up.

What? None in Virginia? I guess I don’t need to check my 3 tickets.

Big Surprise the winning ticket was in California. Amazing how many big jackpots are won in New York and California.

Those two states are the two largest populated & most liberal. liberal people tend to play the lottery more than conservatives . So ... more tickets sold will equate to more winners ...jmo

This list is just historical list of the top few states, and is dated October 31, so go ahead and check your tickets....

Well, no. California is #1, but New York is #4, behind Florida and Texas. Pennsylvania is #5, but is #1 in the winners list.

Well, OK ... I should have put it "two of the largest" ... but I believe I made my point & my point is valid.

There have been instances of inside information on pre-printed "quick picks". I saw an episode on American Greed I believe about a guy doing this. But as for the Lotto, those numbers are randomly drawn so you can not have inside information. I remember they used to show the numbered balls randomly getting sucked up on TV. I would wager that the process is heavily monitored. And one random number is as good as another, despite claims of "systems".

First part of the above statement is true and relevant regarding population. Second part is relevant in what way? Oh, I get it....

Let me just try to get this straight, you're saying "liberal people tend to play the lottery more than conservatives " I bet any taker $1 that you actually believe this. 😅

Well, his first statement was only half true, and if the second part were true then how does Indiana, a state with a Republican guv and 2 republican Senators, 1/5 the population of Calif, and 1/2 that of NY, have as many big winners as Calif and NY? And how does PA have the most if they are only 5th in terms of population and hardly a hotbed of liberalism?

But it's all in good fun. I still believe the Cleveland Browns will win the Superbowl this year.
