Anyone notice their heating bills increasing?

Your meters might be fine but it's your boiler that might need a checkup. You can request one via your contract supplier. Here's hoping it goes well. PS do you have Direct Debit as these are the lowest prices guaranteed with my supplier? 🤞🤞🤞

I am rather frugal. I do not have many electrical items. I turn everything off when I leave the house. The only thing going constantly is the refrigerator.
I have no electric clocks etc.
I live on the bottom floor of a block of units, so no direct sun above me.
I do have an air conditioner used only when the temperature reaches above 95.

Seems like she’s being ripped off…..it has rocketed of course , but not to that extent ,
my family live near holly , and it’s not that bad , and she says , she doesn’t have heating on }?
 
My monthly bill was 3rd highest in the past 5 years ($164.39). It was a cold December. I generally consider a rolling 12 month average for comparison, and this month's bill pushed it up 15.2%, after 9.1% for previous month.

January has been very mild... thus far.

First, this is summer in Aus, right? People in the northern hemisphere need to know that first.

Second, if you are all electric (heating/cooling/cooking, right?), what is the source for electric power generation in Aus. Is it native coal--e.g., Newcastle? Do you folks have nuclear? I feel pretty sure that you have little hydro, but how much wind/solar do you folks have as a piece of the electricity pie?

I have no problems with this, but cheap electricity means either subsidies or cheap energy sources. Now you've gone and made it interesting...:)

I live on the West Coast of Australia.
Most electricity is generated by coal.
I am at work 6 days a week, and on the weekends I attend sports matches - volunteering my time.
Work plus volunteering - 72hours?
Sleep takes up 42 hours?
Leaving 54 hours to consume energy. I batch cook for weekly evening meals.
Eating out on the weekends.
So very little energy is used at home.
That said, I do believe there was a mistake on my latest energy bill.

I'm in Lake Worth and yes, I'm right there with you. My gas bill has gone way up... And my electric bill is pitiful. I feel like they should have at least taken me out for dinner in a nice place first.

We are paying an additional $39.25 to $40.25.
Months ago, our area news station reported that heating bills would increase 25% to 64%.
