This will surprise you..I actually hate this house..!! have for many years, actually really detest it... and I always wanted to move but the O/H would never move, so I was stuck here...Thank God, it would be too much for me to bear if I lost that due to a situation caused by my partner. As hard as this time is, you still will have your home that you love, that gives you such joy.
My situation was different but I would have lost my mind if I lost my home, safe haven. It may take a long time to recover from the emotional turmoil but just being there will give you great comfort!
yes , that is one way to think of it. It's the place you know, and it knows you as well.. as do the people, and everywhere around you is ..yours so to speak , whereas it's hard to find that in any other place not familiar to you..There is nothing better than getting home, climbing into your own bed. It would be the first thing I would do when I got home even if during the day. I would have to crawl in and have a good nap!

I'm hoping once the Divorce is over that I'll be able to afford to move...
Oh yes, I couldn't live in a home that was neglected, and it is hard work keeping it nice on my own now... but hopefully and with luck on my side, I won't still be here in 5 years time saying I want to move..Yes, it does surprise me. You work so hard keeping it beautiful, taking care of your garden. I hope if you choose to move you will find just the right thing in the area you want to be.
Maybe once the divorce is over the house won't seem so bad. Getting out of an unhappy marriage sure can change your perspective. This will surprise you..I actually hate this house..!! have for many years, actually really detest it... and I always wanted to move but the O/H would never move, so I was stuck here...

Kinda like I said to one of my kids recently: ONCE a New Yorker, ALWAYS a New Yorker!!!No, I would not want to move anywhere else. NY is my home. My ancestors chose it back in the 1600's so I guess it is in my blood. I think I must be one of the few people who like the weather here.
Maybe! That would not surprise me.Kinda like I said to one of my kids recently: ONCE a New Yorker, ALWAYS a New Yorker!!!
I wonder if we have some of the same ancestors on my NY side of the family!
As I heard recently on a TV ad. "It's not where you were born, but it's where you call home that matters".Kinda like I said to one of my kids recently: ONCE a New Yorker, ALWAYS a New Yorker!!!

I am sorry you are going through this. Divorce at any time in life is hard, but I think it gets harder with age. I know selling the house can't feel good.I already have a home in another country.. Southern Spain... I lived there for 10 years , now it's going to be sold..
No the truth is I hated it before my o/h and I got married, I just couldn't afford to move on my own salary... but because it was relatively close to where he works in London he was happy to live hereMaybe once the divorce is over the house won't seem so bad. Exactly. Being born in a barn doesn't make you a Donkey....As I heard recently on a TV ad. "It's not where you were born, but it's where you call home that matters".
