Anyone want to chat about anything at all? 🤓

I'm glad things are better again. I am a worrier too at times. We get some tornadoes here in Ohio too and last year about 10 of them came through here. I didn't know it till the next day. I hope you don't get any tornadoes there .
1000's acres of planted Horse Radish is growing rapidly now in the Valley. They had the tornado warning going for 45 minutes repeatedly. But basically, the roads and bridges are so screwed up in the Area. Forget Visiting this year.

I was thinking of the horseradish in the jar...I forgot it grows in the fields.. Sounds like it's a mess there now.

I just made a pot of chili! It turned out ok. I'm going to freeze some of it.

It was cooler yesterday than the day before. It was nice though even if the sky was dreary looking. I have been working on getting things more organized around here. I made several trips down to the dumpster . I really have too much junk!

It's really quiet here in my apartment. This is the first time in 30 some years that I'm alone again. It's taking something to get used to.

Lots of Damage to homes, Businesses and Church in the West Central St. Louis area Friday! Very nice day here today.
Birthday party too. Good Cake.
I'm sorry to hear that. I watched the National News last night and the storms and tornadoes were all over some parts.
Parties are nice and the celebration brings good feelings and cake, too☺️

Seeing it's a bit chilly today I decided to make a big pot of Lentil soup with lots of chicken pieces and vegetables in it. It's almost ready and the house smells really nice. This will last a few days, and I won't need to cook till mid-week.
Sounds yummy. I like lentils soup too. Enjoy 😊. This chili I made will last a few days too and the rest will go to the freezer 😄

Several people have mentioned tips for wakefulness.

I find audio books helpful for sleep.

I listen to audio books every night, but I have certain, "comfort books" I listen to on nights when sleep is difficult. I just let them play and when I wake throughout the night, I am somewhere in a story I'm familiar with and can just listen until I fall asleep again.

I have an Audible account, which is a bit expensive at $16.00 monthly, but you do get two books for free for signing up and there is a large selection of books to listen to for free with your paid account in addition to the monthly book credit.

There is also, Overdrive, which you can use through your public library to listen to books for free. :)
One silly method I started using in my 20s, and still do now, is to mentally recite the old song, "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, 99 bottles of beer- Take one down, pass it around, 98 Bottles of Beer on the wall." I heard it when I was a teen, I've never been down past 40s.

Hi, Ruthanne. 😊👋

I thought I'd wave to you, a little bit earlier than yesterday evening....I think. 🤔🙄🫣

I hope you got some sleep and then some food today. They are both so important. Effecting how we feel and how we cope each day, I've found.

My sleep wasn't good last night but I somehow managed to get to my medical appointment this morning, and then ate and then, had an afternoon nap, so am doing okay.

🙂🤩☺️

Hi @Kaila It's always nice to see you! I hope you sleep better tonight. I had a hard time getting enough sleep too. I did get some late afternoon and feel better than I did. I had some more of the chili I made earlier.

I hope your appointment went well!💗

Thank you for your hopes.☺️🥰

I'm glad that you got some sleep too, and you had some of your chili, which is always better as a leftover than when it's first made, right?
🤩

My appointment was helpful, thank you. 🙂

I have no commitments, no scheduled things to attend to (most of the time) and no need to go to sleep at any given time and I can sleep as late as I wish most days. That set of freedoms has caused me to have wildly varying sleep/awake times. It bothered me for a few years then I embraced it. I often will not go to bed until 2 to 3am and I sometimes sleep until 11am. Even Emma has adjusted her hours to me (that's why I know she loves me) crawling into my bed around 10am. She doesn't nudge me (although I know she is hungry.) Rather, she will gently snuggle up to me so carefully I often don't wake. God, I love that dog!

I have so little to say anymore. Kinda scares me. I think I'm depressed and worn out. Did so much talking in my life, so much. Where did it get me? Usually no where. Yes, I'm definitely depressed. And anxious. All the time, can't run away like I used to, can't distract myself.

Still talk in my head. Wish I could shut up internally as well as I shut up to everyone else.
Pepper,

Perhaps you should direct all the "noise" in your head to a journal or diary. I have kept a digital journal (on MS Word) since 1980. It doesn't matter what you write down. It does not have to be inciteful. It does not have to be calm or friendly. It does have to be you being brutally honest with yourself. The value of a journal that no one will ever read (perhaps upon one's death) is something that comes later when, after enough time has passed, you read it with fresh eyes and emotions. It can be positively cathartic. You sound like a good candidate for something like that, if you don't mind me opinionizing about you.

Also, remember that what anything in the past did or did not get you, has zero basis in the future.

I hope you feel better soon.

@davidlatterversion

I suffer from unbalanced sleep issues as well. For a while it was from 2 or 3 am to 11am, like you but the problem is now out of control. Today, I slept from about noon until 6:30 pm. It just makes things worse, when we sleep the day away I think it makes loneliness really bad.

We don't have the opportunity to get out and about because everything is closed. I did manage to get out today for groceries at Walmart about 8:30. I have a hard time getting started when I wake.

I also have a chiweenie that I got about 9 months after my husband passed. Her 14th birthday is on June 11th. She was born at the local pound. I met her at six weeks old, adopted her but she couldn't come home until she was spayed and healed. She was released from care at 12 weeks. She is the light of my life.

I not to play favorites, I have 2 other dogs now that came after her. The two littles sleep in the bed with me, they don't care about the time. Big dog prefers the den under the ceiling fan.
He is a chow, so furry to say the least.
