Anyone watching the US Open?

That has got to be the worst and ugliest golf course ever. It looks like an old strip mine and is even annoying to watch play, let alone actually play.:p

Yes, I've watched it. Some of the top players have openly complained about the difficulty of the 18th. It will be interesting to see who wins the tournament since skill and luck will be equal factors here. It's not fair to the players though IMO.

I have not played or watched golf much the last two years. I did catch a little of the Open yesterday while my wife was doing some shopping. I noticed that there were a lot of names on the board that I did not recognize. I did read earlier that a lot of the golfers and former pro golfers complaining about the course, Chambers Bay, not being up to standards for the U.S. Open.

I've watched a little. The USGA does a poor job on course set up. They are so worried about protecting par that it becomes goofy golf a lot of years. All the golfers do have to play the same course, but its no fun to watch imo.

And the course even has long freight trains passing alongside as an added touch.

I watched golf as a kid. A big part of it must have been the personalities. Or maybe because we only had 3 channels back then.

Only really became interested again since Tiger Woods came on the scene. It is so painful to watch him now.

Two-time major winner Bubba Watson tweeted a video of himself testing the course (Chambers Bay) Friday. Better than paint.;)

No watching the golf but very pleased to see that the Matildas beat Brazil and have advanced to the quarter finals of the Women's World Cup (soccer)
Look out America, we're coming after you

DW, I'm actually pulling for your guy in the Open (Jason Day). He is a sentimental favorite now because he collapsed with an attack of vertigo during the 2nd round and is battling it out anyway. I've had that, and I don't see how he can even walk let alone play golf. But golf is more like a soap opera than a sport anyway.

Soccer, OTOH, is serious business.

True. I keep the TV on while I'm doing other things and just check in occasionally. It's quieter than other shows, except when the freight train passes by the course, lol.

That was incredible. I'd had a sudden attack of vertigo 2 years ago and was in bed for 2 days. Jason was unbelievable to get up and finish the round and to end up in the top 4. I hoped he'd pull it off but had a feeling Jordan Spieth would take the crown which he did. His day has come not doubt about it.

But the course was a disgrace.
