Anything to do with Motorcycles.

Sold one of my motocycles today.

I sold the 2014 Honda CB 1100. I had it for almost 9 months and put about 2200 miles on it. It was a really great bike and I enjoyed it while I had it. But I also have a 2023 Triump T100 and I just couldn't justify having two motorcycles. It was a hard decision on which one to sell, but in the end I decided to keep the Triumph. It's a bit lighter and less powerful than the Honda but at my age that big Honda was getting to be a bit intimidating. I feel more comfortable on the lighter Triumph.

Used to love American Choppers , the bikes were great to look at but never had one .

"Anything to do with Motorcycles."

Anything?

Street racing from a spectator point of view -- with cute kids. If I get the opportunity, I might go along to watch this year. Click on the embedded link within the image:

Or if you prefer, from a rider's point of view. Not for the faint-hearted:

I started riding late last summer w my 23 Yamaha XT-250. I was hoping to use it camping and around home. Got a couple basic MC courses in before winter, however I really struggled to pass the tests, but I finally did. I have more excuses than Doan has pills! LOL

In the process I got hooked on MC safety and all that entails. I have an intermediate and an advanced riding class booked for early this spring. I am considering going to some track days in SLC and a 2 day Yamaha Champion course in So Cal this fall.

I can ride to Trail Creek Summit (the old border of Sawtooth and Challis NF) and only hit pavement for a few miles as well as numerous other places w only a few miles or no pavement to contend with.

I also decided I'd like a bigger bike to do some 100-200 mile day trips strictly on pavement. Christmas was over, but Hanukkah Harry stopped by w this beast, a 24 Yamaha Tracer 9. I haven't ridden it yet so I'm pretty anxious to get in going. It's still at the dealer getting some crash protection installed.

I had a Honda 110 street bike back in the 70's.. can't recall the year but it was early. Jump start. Looked something like this-

I ended up with Kawasaki Vulcans. Ugly as a letter from the IRS according to to Motorcycle. 500, 750 and 1500. They were breeding tiny dirt bikes in the garage. What can you do? You cannot separate them. So keep the babies:)

I learned to ride on a 1965 Honda S90. Great little bike, perfect for a kid.

My first new bike was a 1981 Suzuki 650E. Rode that thing all over Texas and back.

Then I bought a 2003 Honda 919.

Current bike is a 2012 Kawasaki Concours14

Wasn't riding it all that much so I sold my Goldwing a couple of years prior to retiring while telling myself that as soon as I did retire that I'd get another bike....I retired and ran getting another bike by mama and she didn't even hesitate when she said, "ain't no way Jose !" so we compromised.

I wanted a new Indian Roadmaster but was allowed to purchase.....

I saw where someone started a thread on wating to buy a vintage car. It got me to thinking about wanting a vinatge motorcycle. So I started looking on facebook market place and found these two. The first is a 1965 Triumph Bonneville. That was the bike to have back in the day and 1965 is the year I graduated from High School which would make it kind of special for me.

The second is a 1965 Honda Super Hawk. Again the year I graduated from High School. It was a 1966 Honda Super Hawk that the guy who wrote "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" rode.

Either one of them would be really cool to have a second bike.

My main hurdle will be getting my wife used to the idea of me having two motorcycles. That's going to be a tough one.

The 305 Honda motor was a great performer but the Cam chain Guide roller would cut thru the Aluminum pin, chain would break and motor
Had to be removed, Heads & Cyl. walls removed and Crankcase cleaned out with new parts. It killed those bikes early. I had the 305 Scrambler. I did all that work in my garage. It was a fun light bike with the right tires to offroad more. 1967 thru 1974 sold it to the neighbors Son. Back when it was a lil over $700 new, sold it for $300.

You will still find ways to get into trouble.

This is an internet picture but it's the very first street bike I purchased, in the same color, 1975 Yamaha TX750. I bought it right after I received a raise at work and my foreman got so mad at me he told me he should fire me because I didn't appreciate the raise.
