Are all religions just one big con trick?

Or a control mechanism in societies through which negative/ bad/ animal type behaviors can be controlled. If no religions and their guidances existed would some of us still behave positively and kindly. Or is the balance always moving between "good and evil" - seems fifty/fifty to me atm?? Even their manifestos offer different messages from Buddhism and its various forms to Christianity and its? - Could we really manage without them all?

To say all religion is a con game, is silly / smiley. :) If humans have been interested in it for millennia and have written profusely on the subject, why not take some time to understand the history of religions? I think you will discover many legitimate reasons for our interest in that which we can not prove. When I entered the Buddhist monastery I was instructed to go through several books about the history of religion. That way I could examine and study how others have navigated their lives. :)

My family are all Christians, all 3 generations. I'd to think there is a god and there is life beyond death. I don't go to church regularly because I haven't found a church I want to settle with. I do make a donation every time I attend a church service, not a lot of money, around $20 bucks. I don't believe any church or any priests should make income above average.

All religions can't be right . . . so the only logical conclusion is that they must all be wrong.
I think that's an error in logic. If there are 10 doors, and the chance of a car behind one of them is 50/50, and one by one, you choose the wrong ones, then using that logic there can be no car behind any of them.

Sorry, but even if there is one door or a hundred, the chances are still 50/50 that a car is behind one of them. If all the other doors are the wrong ones, it doesn't change the possibility. It simply means that the more doors there are, the more chances you have of guessing the wrong one.

doesn't prove any of them are true though /- just another human viewpoint?_
More than a human viewpoint.... it's called faith. Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Do you have faith the sun will rise tomorrow? You haven't yet seen it.... yes, it's done so for thousands of years, but what if it burns out? What if another planet crashes into it, throwing it spiraling off into space so deep that we can not see it?
I'm not upholding 'religion'. Religion killed my Christ, who was perfect and without sin.
Just like satan in the garden, he only had to get Eve to question the Lord's word. I don't claim to understand every jot & tittle in the KJV, but I don't question it's validity.
