I realize my wife and I are fortunate but we are accompanied by one of our daughters, or adult grandkids, when having doctor or hospital visits. At 90, I'm not sure that we can retain or in some cases, fully understand what instructions or information we're being given on a visit.
Cut her some slack. Lots of us at that age are in mental decline.
I got the last COVID Vaccine last fall that' hopefully the very last one to get. It's not a pleasant experience, a bit 'unwell' for a day or so.

Us.. who had to stand in pouring rain, in long queues..outside of supermarkets for hours while they onlly allowed in 2 people at a time...
....only to find nothing on the shelves....
Us ... who when allowed to visit a park were being chased down by the Police to ensure we hadn't travelled more than 5 miles from home ?
Us who who had the army brought in to control our movement.. In Spain people were arrested who didn't have permission to be out of their area , like a doctors appointment...
Us.. who had no stores open except supermarkets...
Us who couldn't get cars repaired...
Us when non food stores were allowed to open again still had to Queue..like prisoners for food...
Us who suffered the breakdown of marriages, and lost relatives , to the disease..
Us who couldn't get a hospital appointment for months.. ... Us who died of illnesses which couldn't be addressed because of the fear of covid by the medical staff

Thanks for the additional, detailed information regarding pneumonia shot. I'm a way pass 65 years old. I'm an elderly person, but have been in good health despite I lost an appetite for a while but back to normal eating habit again. There are other minor health issues related to my old(elderly) age, mostly 'pain' back and leg which bothering me, but with the med. I've been doing fine.
Agree. We're also advised to wait at least 3 months for a new vaccine after a Covid infection, as having the virus provides the same level of immunity as the vaccine.
I live in CA and didn't find it particularly brutal Went to stores as needed (while masking & distancing), walked the neighborhood, created a family bubble, etc. Some businesses did indeed fail. However, most figured out creative means to stay afloat.
