Are waterbeds still popular?

We had a king, kids had doubles.Had them for quite a long time, actually, but finally got tired of the leaks and the heaters going out.Nothing worse than crawling into what you think will be a nice cozy bed at night and it`s ice cold.Brrrr....
Were a little expensive to run as well. With the heater running 24 hours a day.

Are waterbeds still popular?

I had a Double Bed one in the early 80's. Was just a plastic Bladder and yes, it sprung a leak.
Yes also to hitting bottom when in amorous situation.
I don't know if water beds are still popular, but I doubt it. My friend had a water bed at college. I hated the damn thing. It made me seasick.

We've had some unusual experiences on ours too! :)

I had one, and I loved it. It was really comfortable. Yeah, you needed a heating pad underneath, or you froze to death. I had three cats, who were not declawed, so I kept a double wide sleeping bag on it. Then one day the heating pad over heated and burnt a whole in the underside of the water bed. When I opened the front door, I had my own private house lake. The water got soaked up by a bag of kitty litter, which split apart. Who would have guessed kitty litter floats?
No more waterbeds!!!!!!

Oooh, yes! We had one in the 80s or late 70s (can't remember which). Loved it! King size.

The only snag was emptying and refilling - seemed to take forever - then the warming up took forever too.

Ours sprang a small leak - not a problem because of the wooden surrounds they sat in - it didn't flood anywhere. We repaired it, good to go back on the water waves again :D
I also liked when changing the bedding, I could clean the plastic thoroughly - great when you suffer allergies.

I still have the leaflet advertising it somewhere in my memory box. It shows a picture an elephant sat on it and the weight of the filled bed - think it was a ton.

The only reason we parted company was because we moved to an old property and weren't sure the floorboards were strong enough.

I had one thru the 90's. When it gave out I went back to a King. Slept so sound on that water bed I seldom moved. Sometimes
seemed like a marble statue though. It set up off the cement floor on cement blocks. Very stable ton of bed there.

Rule #1. Cats have to be declawed. ..... Yep I had to patch it. ... lol
