Are We Allowed To Address the Trump Assassination Investigation?

...while he walked away triumphet a very wonderful family man lost his life. Others were severly injured. That is not a place to showboat for America.

He should have been worried about if others were in harms way, was anyone else injured.

Who were you talking about in this post of yours? Who is "He"? It sounded political to me but I'm sorry if it wasn't.

Yes, I was talking about "He" but it was not political. It was simply the fact that a celebrity using a public forum to make a political statement in his favor regardless, not even looking back to see what was happening in the crowd he had gathered, all in his support but it seemed he was only concerned with getting that picture.....fight, fight, fight.

Sorry but it felt to me that he was saying that others should be willing to die to get him in office. Now, that is political. I only suggested that they should take in trained dogs to clear any public arena where any person that is famous to assure their safety. Dogs can see things, identify dangers that humans can not. They can smell ammunition, explosives that can prevent attacks.

I have not looked into the circumstances where this occurred. I do not know if there were trained canines checking the area before, during the event. You are angry this happened, I am upset this happened when there should have been the very best of government security. I still believe that security should be walking dogs through the venue the entire time to assure there are no weapons, bombs, etc.

Again I will state that leave the vote to those more intelligent than I. I have my reasons to dislike this person but those are only my reasons. There is no reason for me to post this here or anywhere. If other people are fine with it, I will not argue, debate or make any kind of statement. This is America and we are all entitled to our own opinions.

No matter how good any secret service or police force is, they will never be perfect. When you have many moving parts to oversee, eventually something evades detection that should have gotten noticed. If you are going to live in a nation that allows access to guns, as well as sniper and assault style weapons, sooner or later these things will happen. That's not a political statement, it's just logical deduction.

There will always be an element of society that will justify in their mind the actions they take, even though it is against the law. If they have the means to carry out their agenda, they will try. The defense can be exemplary, but it only takes once. The larger the crowd, the easier it can be to blend in.

Doing an autopsy on what went wrong is of vital importance, but unfortunately every future situation will be different (Other cities, other crowds, and other surroundings). The SS has been protecting heads of state for 200 years, but the unthinkable happened with Lincoln, and I expect, no matter what we do, sadly, it will happen in the future.

Probably in every rally there is a suspect, just doesn't get close enough.
You know Pro for hire secrete agents. Living is dangerous is a thought.

Years ago a former first lady visited a hotel i am very aware of. It was A BIG DEAL. Lots of sweeps…new phone lines…lots of efforts put in place to ensure safety prior to the overnight visit.

On the other hand this is the ex president who brags about doing nothing about gun control and on the eve of insurrection told people to stop checking for guns because it wasn’t him they wanted to shoot.

Still I feel differently than he does about human life, mutual respect so it sure is too bad he was shot at. Just not surprising.

What happened a couple weeks ago is terrible, I think most agree. I've been following this story as it unfolds. I get quickly disgusted with politicians using it as a bully pulpit, but it happens. Today I viewed an impassioned acting secret service representative who at least attempted answer as if he cared about the failure of the system he is a part of. I hope that is genuine and that more accurate information continues to be revealed. The stone wall approach we witnessed at first hopefully has ended. Even some of the political types seemed more in earnest it's time for that to be true.

It was very sad for the people that were killed, injured and their families. The candidate was one very lucky man. Most of his ear would have been blown off if it was shot. If I was the candidate rallies would be inside with everyone walking through a metal detector. Too many crazy people in the world.
If they had to walk through metal detectors, he would lose most of his mob.....er crowd.

Not sure there's much to discuss, the Secret Service fell on their sword and admitted that there was a hole in their security net.
Yes, but we know they took the blame whether it was entirely their fault or not. There might be some truths to uncover.

When someone's husband was almost beaten to death with a hammer, didn't the celebrity on stage accuse him of being gay? He incites violence every day, you get what you give.

I am so happy to be stupid enough to follow all this crap. I have dogs in my home that are the best judge of character in a human. I do not have to spend my time worrying about politics and even what other humans embrace. The dogs protect me, they don't care about the nonsense of other humans. A dog will not bite or attack without reason to do so.

Their person(s) is in danger, somebody has invaded their territory without permission. Theyhave identified a person as a danger to their human family. I do not keep a gun in my home, I keep dogs, one of which is very large and can protect me, @Lara do you have any more comments for me?

I am just some old lady in Texas who doesn't give a crap until you show up on my porch. You go on ahead listening, worrying and thinking that your vote is going to change the world. I on the other hand, I will live in the world I have today, make a cheeseburger and a chocolate shake for dinner. What is going to happen will happen, God alone knows the answer and he hasn't let me down yet.

[ Gosh, I'm so glad this has been kept free of politics. ]

Me 2 ! No promises though that I can keep but it great to get thru a day with not one political point of view thrown at.

We "do" live in a very violent world. Cannot sugar coat it. If the building roofs were too hot, then surround them with electric fences and barbed wire. Protectees should have shields of bullet proof glass.

Matrix: Would you allow us to try having a conversation and giving our opinions based only on the investigation? I would really like to know how people feel about an assassination attempt on a former president. We just have to train ourselves to keep the name out of the conversation. We learned that all the time when I served on duty.

Thank you.

Discussions on actual events are definitely allowed, the thing is, someone can't wait to make it political. This thread became political at post #9, I stopped reading there and will lock this thread after my reply. I have no time to read every reply and keep monitoring this thread indefinitely.
