Are we prepared for the future if global warming continues?

I think the old saying applies: "He who makes a mistake and doesn't go back and correct it, has made two mistakes".
We have made many, which has put us in this situation, and now it may be too late to go back and take another path.
It's hard to not make this political, but if we choose leaders who don't care about this important crisis, we have sealed our own fate.

Idk. The future is so uncertain, and everything is changing so fast, who can know what today/tomorrow will bring. There are big surprises happening daily. Some of them might be terrific news.

No such thing as Gentle Kindness. Humanity, well was it really important then. Who was the con that thought up the first Gods and the corrupt system of trickery.

Stand at the bank of the River in Bejing, the other side, it's dried up. So you see, dictators, Communists, they can't fix anything either.
I saw today they found a rock wall in 70' of sea water from 5500 years ago. Seems inundation has been going on for a long-long time.
Leveling the Smokies has been going on since the invention of the power shovel. 1st roads, then moto marts, then Dollar Generals, then
Multi-family habitats etc.

I think this is just another "Look over here at the birdie" issue meant to keep people from facing more immediate problems that we could actually address. To make any dent in changing just the piece of this that humanity influences means giving up and collapsing back to a tiny population under feudalism and conditions of deprivation.

Germany is in a mess right now. They are running out of people to buy cars, people to make cars, and the energy to support either one, not to mention the raw materials required. They made a bad bet on BEVs by wearing rose-colored glasses and hoping things held together long enough for the tech to become viable some day without heavy subsidies. Sadly, the reality is that BEVs have turned out to be not even carbon-neutral, but carbon-positive over their life cycle!

VW, Mercedes, et al. are now in deep trouble. Germans may have no choice but to accept cheap Chinese cars and deal with the environmental and economic fallout.

Very likely Germany is going to lose the top 5% of its technically savvy population (from engineers to plumbers) to emigration out to places like the U.S. that is less hostile to hands-on labor.

They shot themselves in the gut with Ukraine, BEVs, and other nonsensical policies.

 
Isn't Germany smaller than Texas. Let's worry about Texas first. If the Europeans don't wanna stand as one then they fall.
Who cares if they choose chaos over stability. Sooner or later Euro Asia will be United as a country most likely owned by A Despot.
