Are You A Book Lover?

This woman is a serious book lover, and has created some artsy photos with them, more photos here.

Bookstagrammer' Elizabeth Sagan has been sharing her love for books with her 90k followers for several years, and never ceases to amaze everyone with her creative scenarios. It all began with sharing her favorite reads, then interactive shots with a bookcase.

As she became more and more involved with the idea, photos got steadily more complex and creative. Today she creates intricate and inspiring artwork from her massive collection of books.

If this art form seems familiar, it's because Elizabeth brainstorms and creates literary scenes with her good friend James Trevino, whom we featured in Bored Panda earlier this year.

Other than a outdoors related fishing, hunting or gun magazine (which ain't really a book) I can't recall when the last time was that I actually read a real live book.

Yes, I read at least one or two a week. The pictures are interesting but does she just love books or does she love to read as well. I'd rather read than create scenes but that's just me.

Absolutely; reading is my favorite pastime. Although I am more likely to be using my Kindle or iPad to read these days, I still have bookshelves full of books. (Though I agree with Gennie; I never wear them.)

I love to read. I usually read one and then listen to one because my eyes get tired, which is my own fault because if it is an extra good book I can't put it down. I use my Kindle or get books from the library. My library has a lot of large print books which are easier on the eyes.

Yes, book lover. Always have been. Nowadays I prefer e-books because then I can read at night in the dark on my kindle. And, also, I can take what I'm reading anywhere to read at those dreadful wait times.

Oooh yes I'm an avid reader, always have been.

Sue...67 books in one year ?...wow , that's more than one a week..:D.My daughter used to read books at a terrific pace like that too, but she doesn't get the time now..

No, I prefer to read books, but I am a lover of some people. :D

All those 'Jesse Stone' books were brilliant, as were the Mickey Spillane 'Mike Hammer' books.

Book lover? Yes! But maybe my love isn't strong enough.

I wanted to finally get around to reading Rand's "Fountainhead" or "Atlas Shrugged". The problem was that the library only had "Atlas.." and in paperback. Very small paperback. The book couldn't have been more than 7 inches tall by 5 wide. Plus it looked like more than 1000 pages. I mean it had to be at least three inches thick. The worst part, though, was that the type was so small it might as well have been braille.

Looking at that book, I didn't feel much love for reading. I figured checking it out would cause more pain (mostly eye) than pleasure. But was I too intimidated by the book's looks? Did I make a mistake in rejecting "Atlas..." because of fear? Would you have gone for it? :)

I love to read but I have to be careful as to when I do it. Reading makes me so sleepy even though I haven't been reading for that long and didn't read that much. Because of this, I wait until it is closer to my bedtime before I start or I would be fighting sleep for the rest of the day.

My wife reads both regular books and with her Kindle. She's also a book buyer and our house is overloaded with books. I'm a regular book reader and somehow can't get comfortable with the electronic books. Too old maybe? I rarely buy a book but make use of all of our surrounding libraries on a regular basis. Aside from some sports, I read far more than watch TV. I also hold library cards (for the past 19 years) in two towns in Maine and use them during our stays at the cottage.

I am also receeding to some large print books as they are easier to read at night with artificial light, at least for me.

If you read books on a kindle you could choose the size of the type to up to very large and also the brightness of the back light. I really like that I can read in the dark without having to twist my neck to get closer to the lamp light. But I guess you already know this in that your wife sometimes uses the kindle to read. At first I really preferred print books, but I came to enjoy the benefits of the kindle even more. Check with your libraries because you can also borrow e-books.

I'm with you! I read several books a week and download them on my 10" Android tablet from the Kindle library. I belong to the Kindle library for $9.99/month and the library books are free. I can also buy e-books from Kindle or Google Play.

I prefer e-books because I can set the print to "large" and read quite comfortably with my old eyes.

I used to read more, but the internet reading I do seems to have replaced that, but if I get interested in a subject I know little about, I will seek out a book. The problem is, since I have been around for quite a while at my age, I know pretty much all there is to know about eveything. LOL. The tactile feel of books is a plus. They require no batteries, and it's easy to go back and re-read something for better understanding. I'm not much for fiction, but I have dabbled in it here and there.

A near neighbour often has a table top sale of books. She explained that some 20 years ago, she and her husband went to a house clearance auction and bid on the last lot of the sale which was apparently 3 bags of books. They secured the sale and went to collect the books only to be asked when they were taking the rest.
They were staggered to find that they had bought 70 boxes of assorted books and she's still trying to sell them !

Mrs. L is an avid reader - I just read occasionally.

I have always loved to read. As a child I was the one with a flashlight under the covers at night and I continue to find pleasure in the company of books.
