Nitpicky? If feminists expect to be taken seriously, I would at least expect accuracy in their definition of themselves. Man is known for his brute strength, his big brain, his thumbs. Woman is defined by her womb. We're both necessary part and parcel of the same species.

and 'feminists' aren't one big homogenous group anyway - thankfully ideas of equal opportunity and equal pay for same job are taken seriously now - enshrined in law, in fact.

Rest of your post just doesn't make sense - hard to believe anyone really thinks men are just defined by brute strength and brains and women by child bearing. 😵‍💫
 
Don't get hysterical over @Rose65's comments. They have a lot of merit. Men and women have different skillsets, and Rose enjoys being a lady.

I disagree. They don't have merit beyond her own situation. There is no extrapolation to 'men and women' in general.

Men and women don't have different skill sets, other than what they have learned in the culture/ society they live in.

Given equal opportunity different people of both genders develop range of different skills.

How Rose chooses to live her life isn't infuriating- thinking that applies to everyone is.
 
I'd ask Rose out for a coffee if I wasn't already spoken for. I like her honesty and the way she just tells it like it is. :)
 
Feminists want to be treated as equals but still be able to bat their eyelashes to get out of that speeding ticket. Rose has summed it up perfectly in her opening statement.

Now please leave her alone. Feminists have a tendency to bully and 'pile on' which I am witnessing in this very thread.
 
No it is a discussion thread. If you put something out there people can discuss it. That isnt bullying or piling on just because it isn't doesn't agree with you.

Feminists aren't one homogeneous group who have any 'all the same' tendencies - the ' batting their eyelids' is such a strawman comment - nobody argued in favour of that.

Rose might have summed up her own situation and preferences - she hasn't summed up any men and women beyond that.
She might be telling it like it is for herself but not for everyone.
Big difference.

I'm not going to put up with the bullying of Rose. Go back and re-read what she actually wrote in her opening paragraph. It all made perfect sense.

Posters are 'infuriated'...'insulted'...by her opening comments. Give me a break!

Fuzzy thinking helps blur the line between fact and fantasy, reality and delusion. Women needn't pit themselves against men, because they ARE man. We would be equals (all men) if not for the fact that, in order to live on, we must reproduce ourselves. To reproduce ourselves we need hormones, hence the sexes. It's not anybody's fault.
 
What is a lady and is being one worth aspiring to? I think people always know when they are in the presence of a lady but maybe it is indefinable. Certainly I hope I am seen as lady as I think it's a good thing. Yet everyone has their own view.
 
Most likely the reason young are not having more than one is the $1 million price tag to grow up with it.

The world has more than enough human reproduction going on

Of course we have hormones - that doesnt negate the ideals of feminism or equal opportunity, pay, choices etc
 
Pepper merely stated her opinion re: Rose's question to be insulting. That is all. So, looking at it, just indicates a difference of opinion. To make such a mountain out of a mole hill, about it, is so juvenile. We all have our own ideas of what feminism is or isn't. So what. I think her question was valid, as was Pepper's opinion. To suggest one was becoming hysterical or there was bullying involved is so far off-topic, it is unbelievable.

We've come around to a complete circle so I give up. Feminists call for equality of the sexes, an impossibility, but I wish them happiness in their great endeavor, nose to the grindstone and all that.

Feminists will bully, exclude and pile on you if you don't agree with their position. I've already seen it on this thread.

My mother couldn't stand Feminists. They told her she was useless and wasted her life being a stay-at-home Mom to 5 kids. But Dad brought home the bacon, and Mom looked after the household. Each task was equally important.

And Mom raised 5 University educated kids. So stick that where the Sun never shines.
