Are You A Narcissist?

Seems like a lot of people nowadays are. Very involved with themselves, taking selfies, etc. Some of the "reality" shows have very narcissistic people on them, for example the Kardashians.

 

Not in the slightest, although as a teen I was very absorbed with my own image.
A narcissist is self absorbed. I am fascinated by people in general and love watching them.
If there are no people to watch, I look at the pigeons.

I think that only the young are narcissistic, we older
people cannot be so, unless you look really young.

I know a man who would take the prize for being narcisitic if there was a competition, no-one exists to him in this world other than himself. His interest in other people's lives couldn't be more shallow, everything is all about him. He's in his 50's, looks it and is very average looking, yet believes with every pore in his being that he is gorgeous,and every thought or word or action of his is superior to anyone else.

I am all for people having confidence in themselves but when a person takes it to this level I begin to wonder if it's a mental illness!

I know him. he's been elected POTUS twice.
 
Hollywood is full of them.

I had a dental appt. yesterday and while waiting, I thumbed through the current issue of "People" mag and almost

barfed. Statements like "WHO are you wearing?" etc. YUCK !

I wonder if it is the same man that I knew many years ago!

When I was in the Falkland Islands, building an Airport, there
was a young man, this was in the 1980s, he was always admiring
himself, usually in the chrome of the hot counter in the canteen,
he would wipe it with his sleeve if it was steamed up, he would
tidy his hair all the time, even when he was in the bar having a
drink with friends.

He was called "Chocolate Jimmy", because everybody reckoned
that if he was chocolate, he would eat himself, as he thought
that he was great.
