Are you a tap water drinker or a bottled water drinker? and why?

I have a well. But, the water has high concentrations of iron. It's undrinkable. I could have a system of multiple tanks, so I could drink it, but it's cheaper for me to filter out most of the iron for washing etc, but buy bottled water for drinking, since I live alone. That's my situation, now. I lived for years dinking tap water. Whenever I think of store bought bottled water, I think of my parents' reaction- YOU bought WHAT!!!!!!!

Tap
If its not too chlorinated it tastes better. And I spent 40 years as a water treatment engineer, I know it's usually as good or better for you. My preference is actually hard water from a well in limestone, but can't get that here.

Bottled. The water in my building just does not taste good.
It has a water tank up on the roof. I dread to think what else is in there besides water.

When I was in my house, I drank tap water and it was fine.

Have you tasted Cleburne water lately coming from a lake whose level is so far down, they can't even launch the boats from the boat ramps....not to mention the extra chemicals to treat the water from lower lake levels?

Thanks, but we'll stick to Filtered and Bottled water until the drought here is over.

I was raised on chlorinated water. It was normal to me. Unchlorinated water tasted weird!

One place I lived, I saw dead rats in the water.

Anyway ... I usually drink boiled tap water. Anything left in the kettle after boiling water for coffee, etc., goes into a glass container. I probably don't need to boil the water; it’s just a habit from when I lived elsewhere.

I do buy bottled water also. It's convenient when I occasionally run out of boiled water, or if I'm out of the house for several hours.

Up until 1979 I always had tap water. Then in our last house for over 42 years, we had well water which was highly acidic. We went through several neutralizer systems over the years. Finally got a high quality treatment system for the acidity and one also for the hard water (at which point in time I learned that hand and body soap really is “soapy”), which were in place when I sold the house. Now in my retirement community I am back to tap water—but for drinking water I have one of those little Brita pitchers, where you change the filter monthly, that goes into the refrigerator.

That does not surprise me. Several years back there was a series in one newspaper here. It was telling of the poorly maintained water tanks in the city. There were pictures of dead rodents, rats, squirrels, birds, etc. That has stuck in my mind, but I was already drinking tap water. This water just does not taste good.

Brita pitcher filtered tap water.
We previously used with good results, PUR and Waterpik, refrigerator filters. We now use Brita, because we can't put a separate faucet in this sink nor use a cartridge at the end of the gooseneck.
We like drinking dechlorinated water-makes tea and coffee more uniform tasting.
We also won't spend the money for bottled water.

The last place I lived I drank tap water, but here the water must have too many additives so I buy bottled. All bottled waters don't taste the same. The one I buy is from a well known spring up north of here. The overflow forms a creek that feeds our Fish Commission's trout hatchery.

I buy bottled water every week, as I drink 2ltrs a day….
I know that tap water is fine…
but when my friend bought a water purifier , and I saw all the muck coming/out of the tap ..
i decided against it ……….

We filter our tap water through a 5-stage filter (plus a couple of other additions). Use it for everything — just drinking, or tea or the very occasional coffee.

I hit the local winco and refill my gallon jugs. They sell uv radiated water (germs, bacteria free) and since it's no longer summer, I'm not in dire need now to stay hydrated.
