Are you bar of soap person or a fru-fru body wash person?

I use Body wash in the shower... but I use quite expensive bar soap in the bathroom sink, it's a frippery really to pay for the bar soap.. and I don't use it all the time, but its such high quality soap, and so beautifully scented, I enjoy using it...

Downstairs in the kitchen sink I use Dispenser soap.. but again high quality...

I am the bar of soap type. I tried liquid soap once. That took too long to get out of the bottle and then to rinse off. As for scent it makes no difference because it is soon gone. One thing I like about bar soap is that I use the moisturizing type which has some oil in it. Summer heat and sun which is nearly all year in my location, tends to dry out my skin and makes it crack and peel.

When I was younger I used dishwashing detergent. That took off the grit and grease much easier - one application and done. I never liked bathing. Men usually don't and put it off for as long as possible.

Bar of soap. Never use body wash. I think it's nonsense. Nothing cleans like soap. I get angry when looking for mens shampoo, and find some brands combine the shampoo with that silly body wash. I use a bar of soap, a bottle of shampoo, and a bottle of dandruff shampoo. No fru fru body wash. What the hell is a fru fru? Fruity fruit body wash? Who wants to smell like a freshly picked strawberry? I might eat them though.:)

I like bar soap, and I also have discovered that I like the bar shampoo as well. It leaves my hair feeling a lot softer than bottle shampoo, and my favorite is the coconut fragrance, although they come with a lot of different scents.
I just got a bar of soap from Whole Foods that smells like mint, and I love it. I am also going to use it to bathe Marco Poodle and he will smell nice after his bath, too.

There are some good moisturizing body washes out there.
Aveeno. Cerave. Cetaphil. Unscented.
If you get one with a pump you can dispense it easier.

Body wash works great for camp showers. A squeeze container with a grommet for hanging upside down and avoiding a separate shampoo makes showering more efficient. You use less water because of this and the pre-liquid nature saves even more. This really matters when you have maybe 4 gallons of warmed water for your entire shower. Rinsing included.

I much prefer the bar soap! I usually order from an Etsy shop by a soap maker in Maine. She has all kinds of wonderful scents however I try to use the light colored ones. (We had one dark color leave stains on the washcloths.) I also like to knit cotton washcloths so a favorite gift (hostess or otherwise) is a pair of washcloths and a bar of "homemade" soap. My favorite is High Tide - smells like the ocean beach!

I use bar soap in my shower but have Dove unscented liquid body soap in the guest shower and RV. Like @Robb.hisself, I've found it takes longer to wash off than bar soap. The downside of bar soap is its tendency to dry out if not used often, hence liquid soap in the RV and guest shower

I've moved to foaming hand soap in kitchen and all bathroom sink dispensers.

I bought a gallon of unscented foaming soap (15¢/oz) and when a dispenser gets near empty I refill it 50/50 with a combo of scented soap and unscented. Gives a lighter scent at a lower cost and reduces plastic landfill waste.

For dishes I use the unscented foaming soap, though when refilling the bottle I beef it up with a couple of squirts of Dawn. Rarely use straight Dawn on dishes or pots anymore.

I do exactly that with the soap in the shower...

I was a bar of soap person for decades. But, now, I have abandoned the ways of my ancestors, and use a body wash. Of course, you have to take baby steps into the unknown. My body wash is unscented.

We made the switch to body wash a number of years ago and love it. Will never go back to using bar soap to shower/bath with.

I use Dr Bronner's citrus castile soap both bar and liquid. They sell large refill boxes of the liquid so packaging is reduced. The liquid is also concentrated which saves packaging. I dilute it for hand soap containers and for the wall mounted dispenser in my van shower.
