Right now all churches in Australia are closed for everything. No knitting group, no playgroups and no worship services. By the time we are allowed to open up again the peak of the danger period will be over. Social distancing is not a problem during services; ours is a small congregation. The after service morning tea would be very problematic. Knitting and playgroup would be disastrous if COVID-19 is still around.

"Most churches I know anything about have been practising social distancing for many years, due though yo dwindling congregations rather than any thing else. So no problemo so far as I'm concerned, (hopping on a plane, just right now, I'm a bit more doubtful about!).😷 .

No. You are relying on just one aspect of the tranmission of a disease. Most people are not trained to use sterility techniques, like those used in operating rooms. Without those techniques, the spread of a disease is guaranteed, and most will become infected. It's like taking people, who can't swim and throwing them into the ocean. To prevent the spread of certain diseases, just standing 6 feet from one another is not enough.
