Are you competitive?

Maybe a little, but I try not to be as I have aged. I don't have to have the last word on everything. Some things you need to grow up and let go of. Just my opinion. How do you feel? Are you, or were you competitive? How do you feel about it?

Not really, but always looked for opportunities to excel. I think that began when I was a teen that started working for a store as a stock clerk. Didn't like that job so asked if there was anything else. Apprentice butcher was open to try. Did so good that when I graduated high school I could have started at Kroger full time as a retail butcher. But doing the same job for the rest of my life in a boring town was not what I wanted. After making E-6 in the Navy I got out & had a series of jobs that I had success at. My final job as department manager was a culmination of all those experience building jobs.

I didn't need to be competitive just willing to learn something new & do the best I could.

If it's a game to win, then count me in, for the competition. As for the rest, I've mostly set out to do the best job I can with whatever tools I need. It's taught me so much about life in general, and I am satisfied with myself in that I gave it my best. My curiosity throughout my life has set me tasks I might not have tried otherwise. I compete with myself.

Three careers were some of my best efforts.

Competition in sports is understandable because that's the nature of sports. Anyone of us here who has played sports well has probably been competitive. Don't you think?
Not if forced to play, e.g., in school. I see a ball coming toward me, I run away.
