I don't believe half of what I see or hear about anymore. I think it's a positive change for me borne of all the media lies/halftruths of recent years. How about you? Are you more skeptical than you used to be?

Yes some. But only with certain things. Since the media is such a wide open playing field anymore it's easy for anyone to say anything and always find someone who buys into it. They play on people's fears and paranoia and they're counting on them to have no common sense.

how about a "tin foil hat" section for the folks that are skeptical and suspicious of the corruption, propaganda etc we are forcible exposed too

I have been skeptical about a lot of things, especially from the 1980’s. I was once involved in professional sports as an agent for two professional baseball players. Once their contracts were nearing completion, I notified the two of them to find a new agent.

I was never fed so much b.s. as I was while negotiating those contracts. They made me feel like I was the dumbest guy in the room. I don’t care how much money I am paid, I won’t be disrespected or treated like a dog that’s waiting for someone to throw me a bone.

I walked out of the room during negotiations twice. I finally had to tell them if they want to get serious, we can probably wrap this up today, but if you guys are going to yank on my chain all day, we may as well call it a day right now. After that, we were able to negotiate in good faith.

The media in general.

You should try some international news sources in English. Try BBC TV, Australian Broadcasting, Canadian Broadcasting TV, or CBC radio network, on line. You need to understand the difference between straight news reporting, and "opinion stories ".

When I was working as a Private Investigator here in Canada in the 80's and 90's, I would never base a report on just ONE source of information, I wanted multiple sources that supported each other, before I wrote a report to a client.

My point.... Take the time to compare sources, and filter the information that you are seeing/hearing. Yes it takes more effort, but being better informed and knowledgeable is the reward for the effort put forth. JimB.

When I was young and I guess less battered and scarred by life, I was far more trusting, and took things at face value. Many years and experiences down the road now, I trust no one, and Fox Mulder is my idol…

I'm becoming more skeptical, but I don't think age is the reason. When I observe "old," what passes as skepticism is more like denial. Skepticism relies on critical thought. Old is just settled in.

I have believed, since the third grade or lower, to 'Question Authority.' In 3rd grade my friend told me there was no god. I was shocked. I didn't think it was 'allowed' Not to believe in god. I Question Authority and always have, it seems.

As soon as I learned the grown ups lied to me about Santa Claus I never trusted anyone again!
