Glad you got out there today. Hope you stocked up on some goodies for the holiday in your new home. We may be alone but we can still treat ourselves to a nice dinner. Speaking of dinners, did you go to the Christmas function and meet some of your new nieghbors?

Yes I did (it was a Thanksgiving dinner actually), and I bravely introduced myself at a table and I said a person on the internet told me to bravely go join a table! Thank you! I got some good info too, about how even tho there are a million rules people mostly just follow the ones they agree with. Ha ha. Everyone here has been super nice (like when I get lost out on the walking paths, one person even changed her plan to walk with me, and another time someone walked part way to get me to the walking path I was looking for).

Temps are dropping here in Southwest Idaho but no snow expected until tonight.

My grandniece (16) was on her way home from Spain to Wyoming and they landed her plane in Colorado due to bad weather.All passengers were deplaned to take a later flight when the weather clears. BUT,a 16 yo cannot rent a hotel room,so she was stuck in the airport! Thankfully,they are "dog show" people and know people all over,so my niece called a friend in Colorado who was more than willing to drive through the snowstorm and rescue her. She did eventually make it home to Wyoming last night (or this morning-not sure).

I would hope that hotels can change their policies in cases such as this. Nowadays a 16 yo is not safe in an airport alone....
 
For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind chills expected. Wind chills 10 to 20 below zero in lower elevations, and as low as 25 to 40 below zero in the higher elevations. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow and blowing snow expected along with icy roads. Total snow accumulations from a dusting up to two inches.

I'm in higher elevations. Expecting a power outage it happens every time we have high winds. Hoping water doesn't freeze, filling everything I can today.

We are in northern Alabama, and it is supposed to be 6 tonight and a high of 18 tomorrow, but we will not get snow or ice as far as I can tell by the Weather Channel app on my iPad.
It seems almost all of the US is feeling this cold whether we are in an area where the storm hits or not. My son in Washington State said it is -14 at his house right now, and that is daytime temperatures.
 
Yes, this lovely snowstorm suppose to hit WNY sometime tomorrow afternoon
I've heard different reports how much snow Buffalo{I live right in the city} will get ,how long the snow band will hover before shifting to the areas south& north of us
My concern is the winds,loss of power.
 
Don't cry! Santa Claus is coming in 2 days. He is bringing lots of presents and he will make everything right.
