Are you or someone you love living solo and thriving? Share your story—we celebrate you!

I'm just trying to survive day to day. I have always embraced my life on my terms, which is probably the reason I am alone today lol! All the friends I once had , have passed on. So now it's just me and my 2 cats. But, I had lived life at the speed of light, and now it's time to relax and enjoy what I have left. I have no desire for the close company of other people; I love my peace.

More and more seniors are embracing life on their own terms—living independently, discovering new hobbies, traveling, volunteering, and even starting new friendships (or love stories) later in life. 💪
I live alone and travel alone. It's not because I am a loner, I do wish I had a compaion. But I find it very difficult to find a compatible person to be with as I get older. It may be just my problem, but honestly at this point I don't care anymore. I am gonna live my life. 💪

Some of my alone time is intentional. Much of it is not. The thing about casual conversation that makes it satisfying or shallow is the unspoken part. I have spent more time thinking about this than it deserves.

Living inidependently, yes.

No new hobbies, unless I mention writing for pleasure (not professionally). But that isn't new.

I don't volunteer. The biggest opportunity for that is at the hospital, and I do not want to be there. I did some volunteer work a few months ago at the museum.

I take care of old friendships, and I have met a few new friends (new, as in the past 5 years) but the new ones are more like acquaintances, since we have no history together.

I don't want a new love story. It would be too much to take on at this point in my life - learning each other's ways - having separate assets, comparing the new love to the one that's now gone.

So I'm sort of "thriving" - maybe (?) just taking a day at a time, and thankful for good health, so far as I know, while being aware that could change at any time the older I get.

How about you?
