Are you pleased with your current weight?

While I'm at a good weight for my height and age I'd be OK gaining 10 or 15 pounds as long as it was muscle mass. My aging body isn't smart enough to put any weight gains in the right spot though, seems to think the waist is where it should go.

I fought weight gain all my life
I was 400# in my 40's. I had gastric bypass surgery. I got down to my high school weight of 165#. I was happy then. Since developing ESRD I've slowly continued to lose weight. After "The Lost Summer" of health issues, i am currently at 142#. I am not happy with that. I am trying to gain weight but the weight loss proceedure limits how much food i can eat in a siting (4-6 oz a meal) so trying to gain weight is difficult.
Same thing here, I had gastric bypass to get rid of numerous medications I was on. Had just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 2 weeks prior
to surgery and on 11 meds by then. Chronic Renal Disease also stage 3, which stage 4 is dialysis. I was desperate as I kept being told to lose
weight but not being believed I was working hard at it. Not one Dr. advised Bariatrics could be the solution.
After my surgery in 2 weeks time I was down to 2 meds and dropped the BP med in a month. I got to my weight goal of 130 over a period
of 4 years and then got bit by that tick and quickly lost 20 more pounds. I am stuck now between 110-115 and would like to be 120.. I know now to get to 120 means I would have to eat very fattening foods and gain the not good weight. (It would be in the tummy area only for sure)
I weigh less than my high school years, something I never thought was possible. But, I have energy, I sleep well when the dogs let me and my stomach sure let's me know if I even look at something too sweet or greasy, it begins to roll and I feel like gagging.
Am I pleased with current weight, yes and no but I love the health benefits more. My total weight loss was 132 pounds

5-11. Used to be 6 feet and a fraction but I've shrunk in my old age. BMI is bullshit.
Agreed. BMI has been under scrutiny for not taking into account other factors. It labels too many people as obese based only on weight and height. It doesn't consider things like bone density. And what height should I use for calculation? My tallest heght 5'11", or my spine fused current height of 5'9".

Ice cream bingeing once a week with a pint sounds reasonable.

Also, congrats on having lost nearly 30 pounds, that is wonderful ;)
We all respond differently to what we eat, so I don’t want to say it’s easy and anybody can do it. What works for me may be a flop for somebody else. I am a bit lucky in that despite my sugar addiction my body seems to burn up calories rather fast. But, on sugar and processed foods, I added 4 inches to my waistline in 5 years. And it was still increasing, until I cut out the nonsense foods.

@DaneBramage496 aren't you amazed how you can have energy with the small amounts of food portions
you eat compared to before? It amazes me how I used to think I HAD to eat a full portion of anything
in a restaurant.
After my surgery my son later wanted to take me out for my b-day and I told him not to waste his
money on buying me a dinner as I couldn't eat it all. Bless his heart he says "Mom, it's not about me getting my
money's worth. It's about you getting your enjoyment worth" I began to look at it differently after that.

Eating bad stuff is the only fun I get. And now I have to decide do I want dessert or do I want to fit in my pants. :( 😿🥮🧁🍰🎂
:) Have both! Measure your desert to remain within your calorie range.
I always thought that looking at cookbook pictures was as much fun as eating ... or, well, anyway, it's fun.

I go to restaurants knowing that my meal will last me three days. I go to a steak house. I order my meal but immediately tell them to box my salad to go. Desserts too. Then i take a few bites of my steak, veggies and bread and box the rest up for snack later and lunch the day after.

I basically eat what I want, without getting too crazy, as I'm diabetic. I hardly eat.
I like eating and could easily gain weight if I ate every time and every thing that sprang to mind. I've learned to be disciplined.

I like being kinder to my planet and the creatures on it, not to mention my own body and my wallet, by eating plant based.

Truth is, a BMI in the 21s feels better than chocolate cake tastes. 🤷‍♀️
