Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I finished Safe last night. It's on Netflix. I liked it. Takes place in England and about a young girl who runs away. Her father tries desperately to find her and uncovers a few secrets with a wild adventure.
Interesting! I see that it's written by Harlan Coben, the same author that wrote the series Missing You, that we've been discussing. I see also that Amanda Abbington is in it, who is one of my favorite Brit actresses. She was in Sherlock with Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, who she was married to for awhile. Will check it out....

[Missing You series] Watched the first 3 last night. Will finish up the final 2 tonight. I almost bailed after the first few minutes of the first ep, but then the mystery presented itself, and grabbed my interest. Then it seemed to turn into a semi horror plot. Good acting, with some good names.
Finished it up last night. Overall the series mystery was well plotted, which the Brits are really good at. And of course the acting was good. They didn't keep the foot on the gas pedal in the semi-horror aspects, which I appreciated. Unfortunately they shoe-horned in to much woke melodrama to my taste. I don't know why every Brit drama seems to have to include a homosexual couple, and in this case a transsexual. The former seemed tacked on, and the latter was a bit incongruous. Still, it wasn't a bad mystery miniseries. I wouldn't be too interested in a second season.

If you liked that Squid Game show, you might like to check out Three Body Problem. My husband and I really liked that one. Apparently there is going to be a Season 2 and maybe even a third for that one. Great sci-fi!
I could not finish Squid Games after seeing the humans being shot at close range, blood going everywhere....just barbaric.
Seeing people being shot and killed as a "game" isn't what I call entertainment.
Just sickens me.
And people wonder why young teens do so many of these shootings?

There's 2 on Hulu, "Accused: Guilty or innocent?" and "Accused", I'm referring to "Accused". Great show.

Someone recommended this show to me and it's on my very full watchlist, but I haven't started it yet. I have several things on watchlists for several streaming services. 👀

@CooCooforCoCoPuffs "The killing crap, sexually explicit things kids can pull up now days is just horrific. Am glad my kids didn't grow up with this stuff"
I wholeheartedly agree!

I am so very, very, very happy to be streaming Will Trent and High Potential again! I also found a couple of new shows I like. The quirky Elsbeth, which kind of reminds me of High Potential and Poppa's House starring Damon Wayans and Damon Jr., both on Paramount+.

I'm also watching Will Trent, High Potential, and Elsbeth. I think the first season of Will Trent was much better than seasons two and three, but it's still an entertaining show. Elsbeth is a hoot! She very much reminds me of a modern day, female Columbo... "Just one more thing"

I've just finished, High Potential. Fun Watch.

I find Elspeth's cases weak but am totally hooked on her with her clothes and shoulder bags😁
Will Trent looking so different but totally gorgeous with the beard.. Love little Betty.

Yeah, "Will Trent" is a semi-addicting series, mostly due to Ramon Rodriguez's compelling charm. His character gets a little too preachy at times, but it's always interesting to see his take on things.

I generally don't admire network shows, e.g. ABC, because they're too polished and squeaky clean, and tend towards wokeness. One nice thing about them? They don't often use gutter language.

Missing You was based on a Harlan Coben novel. He’s an American who has a deal with Netflix for these series. Many are set in Europe, probably because it’s less expensive. So far, I like all the novels I’ve read.

I've only seen two episodes so far of Elsbeth. I think her cases are quirky, which seems to work well in procedurals these days. I saw an interview in which Ramon Rodriquez said Betty is a diva. She's flown in for her parts and has her own entourage of other dogs! Too funny! I love Ramon with his natural curly look and facial hair. OMG!!! I wish they'd let him keep it, but probably not because it wouldn't be GBI enough. And there's something about his eyes! Here's my favorite picture of him.

And he's rockin' the salt and pepper hair in this one. Such a cutie!

I am very old lady but can still appreciate good looks in a man and he has it all.
Yes the beard will probably go. He has to go back to being Will Trent again but that is okay coz the attraction is
still there.
I can just see little Betty being fussed over. ..... something about her too. Love to seee them together.

Elspeth really breaks me up sometimes with her actions. Wonderful actress.

I know what you mean about Will. He has scores of adoring fans. We may be seniors, but we ain't blind. :ROFLMAO: I started watching Will Trent on a whim. I saw the S1 poster for the show and have to admit him with Betty piqued my curiosity and interest. So glad I watched! I like the actress who plays Elsbeth but wasn't familiar with her before watching the show. I'm glad I have two seasons to get through. With everything I have in my various watchlists, it will take some time.

I started watching Peter Berg's (Friday Night Lights) American Primeval on Netflix. The basic plot is nothing original . A woman and her son travel from Philadelphia to the wild west to search for her husband. Complications arise on their journey. Apparently the encounters they face on their journey actually did occur but the main characters are fictional characters. It is gritty and violent, a notch above shows like Deadwood.

’You Can’t Ask That’ on Netflix. An Australian series .
Very different and some episodes uncomfortable to watch.

Each episode is a question and answer format with a group of marginalized or overlooked Australian citizens.
For example, one episode asked questions of people who survived a disaster.
Others were: Priests, Domestic abuse survivors. Blind, Muslims, drag queens, Seniors age 100, etc.

The questions are from anonymous people and meant to be questions it might be considered rude to ask.
Not much bad language but some sexually explicit answers.
