Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I was watching the British version, which was very good. Had no idea there was a US version. So on that. ;)

EDIT: Found it! It's called Gracepoint and Prime has it. Thank you, @OneEyedDiva

EDIT: So, I've watched two episodes and I'm not loving it, Gracepoint. The acting isn't great, except for the original actor from Broadchurch and Nick Nolte. Oh well.

I don't think you've seen this version, @OneEyedDiva[/

Are you sure that it was called Gracepoint, I thought that the american version was called by the sme name. I could be wrong. Loved David Tennant in the english version., the US version, not so much. The american adaptation was filmed in various locales around southern Vancouver Island so many of us were fortunate to view scenes when filming in our town.

Sorry Medusa you are right, I just looked it up, my apologizes. Now I come to think of it Gracepoint does seem familiar. I really only enjoyed the first series of Broadchurch, series 2 did not have the same impact. And now it all seems so long ago.

That's funny. I thought Broadchurch was the American version! Well, like I said it was years ago. I'm glad you enjoyed the first one you watched. Maybe that's the one I saw too, because Broadchurch stood out to me and Gracepoint doesn't ring a bell.

Yes, I have a feeling we both watched Broadchurch. :) -Which as great!

THE DAY OF THE JACKAL (2024)

My first thought was, "Do we need another 'jackal' story? In this case, yes. They took the original material from Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel, and brought it into 2024. The inestimable Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) stars as the Jackal, a very high priced hit man.

So far we've only watched 3 of the 10 episodes, but the first rate production values along with the acting grab the viewer right away. In fact Sky Studios, Universal Television and Carnival Film and TV spent 100 million pounds on the series, which averages out to 10 million pounds per episode! [my keyboard doesn't have a pound symbol]

Redmayne is one of today's finest actors, and he's a delight to watch in this very well done series. It's on Sky Atlantic in the U.K., and Peacock in the U.S.

Started watching High Potential in the last couple days. I'm on episode 4 and loving it. Just my kind of show. Reminds me of The Good Doctor. People judging other people by their (low) status and then having to eat their words.

I'm still watching Spring Baking Championship and Holiday Baking Championship. I just finished watching Last Bite Hotel (a cooking competition show). It was fun.

Started watching a show called Arthur and George about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It's on Hoopla. I just got my library cards renewed in the last couple weeks. They weren't going to expire until August but I use them every day, so I wanted to make sure they got renewed. I was so excited when they were renewed.

We are watching "Shetland". A series about two female detectives investigating murder, terrorism and spying in this barren island setting. It's quite well done and keeps one's attention. Be sure to have closed captioning on if you're not a Scot.

The first couple seasons have a male detective that is also good.

Im watching a series from 1971 to 1980 on Youtube , its called The Onedin Line .
Set in 1860s, about a family Shipping Company. I'm enjoying it and watch several episodes a day .

If you don't mind French with subtitles, I highly recommend a show called Astrid et Raphaëlle, in the US they just call it Astrid. The actress who plays Astrid, a police archivist with Asperger's Syndrome, is excellent. I think there is a season on Prime and some on PBS. I'll just give the standard blurb here because I can't say it any better. "Impulsive inspector Raphaëlle Coste turns to the police's judicial archive for one of her investigations. She begins to work with Astrid Nielsen, who is as brilliant as she is confused. She also suffers from asperger's syndrome."

Haven't started yet but I will be watching Watson (, starring Morris Chestnut. I don't care if the writing isn't good, I won't care if the acting isn't good (not expecting Morris's to be bad), I will still watch because I watch whatever he's in. He is foine (A Different World's version of fine) and is on my top five handsomest actors list.

Glad you are loving High Potential. I do too. I was hooked before the first episode ended. I'm really glad it's already been renewed for S2. If you have Paramount+, and haven't already seen it...you might enjoy Elsbeth. That show reminds me of High Potential.

That sounds interesting. I've wanted to see Martin Clunes in something other than "Doc Martin", so this one will fit the bill.

I finished the episodes of "Unforgotten" available on Prime. Really enjoyed it.

Tried watching "Ms. Scarlet and the Duke"... hmmmmmmmmmm something is 'off' I quit after 1.5 episodes. What did you think of this show?

Thanks! That one is on my list, along with Matlock. Haven't gotten to that one either. Someone just told me about Watson today. That goes on my list too.

Interested to hear what you think about it.

Just started watching Earth Abide which I think is An MGM+ thing in America.
One of those virulent viruses wipes out almost everyone type of dramas.
But no Zombies!
Found out about it while watching series 3 of ‘From’

I love it! Can't wait for each season. Besides the story, the clothing and all is great! To me it's a glimpse of society 30 yrs before and a notch below Downton Abbey. Have a look at 'Lidia Poet' on Netflix. It's Italian with English voiceover, such a well done and beautiful show.

I watched all 5 seasons of "Unforgotten", and they held my attention throughout. Nicola Walker happens to be one of my very favorite Brit actresses, so her performance kept me interested.

I haven't watched "Miss Scarlett". Reading about it, it doesn't seem like my kind of fare. I suspect they tried to shoehorn 21st Century wokeness into a Victorian era story, which, if true, would not work.
