26th run through of Heartbeat on dvd collection - same is happening with all creatures great and small - they were all good years - nothing much good about the present?

I've watched two episodes so far. The last scene in the first episode intrigued me enough to want to keep going. Didn't expect that twist ! Wanted to see what led up to that. There was another element in Ep2 that makes me want to see what happens next. I suspect that will be the case for each episode. So Paradise has officially been deemed "a keeper". According to Wikipedia, there are 8 episodes and the last will air on March 4th. Enjoy! I think I'm going to cheat and read the available synopses (not all are there). It won't stop me from watching though.

It is very much like a "Lost" type show and I do think it moves quickly because there are only 8 episodes this season. I'm glad you like it.

It's funny you say that. Not in reference specifically to this series, but I oftentimes read the whole recap of a show in order to decide whether or not to watchit. The reason? There's so much Limburger out there that I try to avoid committing time to some of the shows/movies with lousy writing. It doesn't bother me to have an idea of what's going to happen. Better safe than sorry...:cool:

They really have gone downhill, while their prices keep going up. I'm signed up for tr cheap version with what they said would be just a "few" commercials. And those commercials keep getting more frequent and longer. They have a handful of really good ones to hook you in and then a whole boatload of crap that you have to wade through to find the good stuff.

Yeah, we gave up Netflix awhile back, when we could no longer piggy-back on my brother-in-law's subscription. As you say, there's just not enough good stuff on there to warrant the cost.

It seems to me that they prioritize volume of content rather than excellence in content. Maybe some people like that, but I'm looking for quality.

I watched a bottle of that for a while and didn't get much out of it...
until I took the cap off and used it salad dressing. It came out okay!
But still prefer wine vinegar.

Now I'm watching Midsomer Murders and it's great... I'm in to season 13.
Was just a little depressed that it's not a real place and will have to find somewhere else to vacation.
 
We started re-watching the Shetland series (2013-present), set in the Scottish archipelago. I'm not sure we watched more than the first few seasons awhile back. But it's such a pleasure to see a police procedural without a bunch of woke, SJ, PC, whatever you want to call it. Just good stories, good acting.
 
I haven't been following this thread, so I'm just guessing, but I imagine Bridgerton has been mentioned. I loved the costumes and gorgeous settings, found some of the episodes annoyingly corny, but stuck with it all the way through anyway. I think they will have a fourth season.

I just started The Good Doctor on Hulu, which I like.

Well, it's hard to put a finger on the plot. It's confusing, hard to follow, and I'm not sure we're supposed to. We don't even understand what the workers' jobs are. What are they all doing there? What does the company do?

But the phenomenal acting from Adam Scott, Turturro, Walken, Arquette and Britt Lower, along with the continual mysteriousness, really holds one's interest. The music is haunting, and the title sequences are fascinating.

5 eps to go in Season 2, so we'll see what shakes outta the tree. I'm sure there will be a 3rd season.
 
I'm not finding anything new that I care for, with rare exceptions now and again.

Instead I'm going back to revisit old TV series in the form of "viewer first reaction" videos where I vicariously ride along watching the wonder unfold.
