Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

Watching "Heartbeat" on Amazon... I think it's from the 80's? Village life, set in Yorkshire. Kind of All Creatures Great and Small for policemen. Some of the situations are a little soap-opera-y, but all-in-all very watchable.

Yesterday I canceled Netflix and got MAX added to my hulu mainly so I could watch The Pitt with Noah Wiley, It's good, but also, there are a ton of good shows on MAX which also seems to include HBO. So I'll be re-watching the Sopranos and The Wire some time soon. Exciting.

'Preciate the tip. I was reared in Pittsburgh, so will look for landmarks. Always on the prowl for a decent series...

All creatures Great and Small - wherever I can watch it - they keep selling the rights - the yanks have ownership atm I believe - can we have it back please - tales of a long gone age in farming and vets and romance - I think I originally watched it in b/w and now the new one in color

Watched the first 2 eps last night. Because I grew up in Pittsburgh, it was a gas to see opening shots of the famous downtown area, including the yellow 9th Street Bridge over the Allegheny River to the North Side.

I might be wrong, but the shot of Dr. Robby Robinavich (Noah Wyle) coming from the street up the stairs into a hospital lobby was likely shot at the main entrance to Pittsburgh's Mercy Hospital (now UPMC Mercy Hospital). I had my tonsils taken out there around 1950, and had a broken arm set there in the later '50s. It was and is a great hospital originally run by the Sisters of Mercy.

I will say that the show is well done. And Noah Wyle is first rate. I guess PC/SJ dictates that if there is a strong male lead, all the other males must be wimps, and all the women shrews...😄

I'm sure the show will remain popular, but it's a wee bit frantic for my taste. I think folks will have to drink 3 cups of coffee to keep up with the action. Some of the dialogue is not believable. Too many snappy asides and repartee. There again, pretty well done, especially the camera work, but I don't know if I'll get back to it.

There was a story in the NYTimes that said they filmed in the Algonquin Hospital. That same story quoted lots of medical people IRL who love the show bc it's the first medical show that's realistic, ie, real patient problems and no soapy romances between the docs. (Tho I loved all that on ER).

That could be. The exteriors were all shot in Pittsburgh, but the interiors were all filmed on sound stages in L.A.

We watched the first episode of Zero Day this evening on Netflix. I give it a big 'meh' so far.

"A former U.S. President is called out of retirement to find the source of a deadly cyberattack, only to discover a vast web of lies and conspiracies."

It’s only the two most recent series that have the two women detectives. All the previous, earlier series have Jimmy Perez played by Douglas Henshall as the lead detective with Tosh as his sergeant. I don’t think the recent ones are as good.
The Shetland Isles are odd, if you notice there are no trees at all. The weather never looks as bad as it is in real life!
This news is very disappointing, I have only watched the series with Douglas Henshall as the lead detective, his character complimented the other actors. Does that mean Tosh, his stepdaughter and her dad are all gone? I am now watching Lewis reruns

Just the lead is changed. All other characters are there. I still liked it with the new lead, like her from other shows too.

Geez, what a heavyweight cast for a series that got very mediocre reviews from critics and audiences alike. Glad to read your take. Will probably skip Zero Day.

[Shetand] We've watched the first 4 seasons, will start the 5th, and likely continue on until Henshall is out.

The series, stories and acting are all first rate. Perez's righteousness gets a little long in the tooth, but the seasons are nonetheless worth watching. The Brits really have a knack for good mystery writing. The bar is always set very high.

Kind of scraping bottom trying to find something new to me where I can get past episode 1.

The Refugees (2015) - miniseries, 8 episodes.

Kind of an overdone story of a flood of time travelers from the future, but just 2 episodes in the shady wife character who palmed off her daughter as the husband's kid (poor gullible sod) might have an interesting tale yet to be spun.

I only recognized one actor, the daughter. Same one who played the kid in Logan.

I have a Roku TV in my den and office, so I stream movies using some of the free channels like Tubi and Pluto.
I just streamed one over the weekend titled “Open Water.” It’s about the couple that were scuba diving in Australia and were left behind when the boat left. I think the excuse was they took a wrong count of the number of divers onboard.

Beau Is Afraid - Goodness, what a chaotic mess!

"This new horror starring Joaquin Phoenix and Patti LuPone is a building panic attack of a film - but its bloated, self-indulgent three-hour runtime lets it down. It's hard to thrill to the turn of the screw when the wheels have already come off."

Watching Reacher and 1923, both really good.
Started watching "Younger" and it looks like some light entertainment.
When I get caught up, I want to go back and watch "Justified" again.
