Are you trained in the Martial Arts?

I started a Krav Maga membership for a few weeks then had to move out of state for a job, what I read was use lethal force when you have to and just to the extent you have to, then leave the area. Wanted to do Russian Systema but the school was too far away.
I don't know which of those is more lethal, but I bet it's Systema.

Personally, I don't think of martial arts as a means of self defense, and particularly not when you're defending your family or others. So, I carry, and I have very effective defenses staged in certain places around the house.

Martial Arts are only effective if someone who knows MA challenges you to an MA fight. Is that ever gonna happen here, or while I'm at an ATM or walking through a park with my beautiful wife or granddaughter? That's a big No.

But I do believe our special military forces still learn it, and that it can come in really handy for them.
It's a means of self-examination and improvement, a source of discipline, and therefore a builder of character.

I started carrying a revolver in 1975 when the San Francisco Police Department went on strike and its officers weren't around to infringe on my Constitutional right to bear arms and protect myself. That being said, the crime rate in the city went down during that strike because every criminal in the city with an IQ above 65 knew that a lot of private citizens were exercising their Second Amendment right. Personally, I felt a lot safer with my revolver on me and no police than I did with the police and no revolver.

I live in Sacramento's gangland area. I appreciate the SPD and Sacramento Sheriff's Department 100%. After all, I like my neighbors but I can't be everywhere with my shooter.

Of course. By the time the police arrives, the criminals will have danced a fandango on our skull!

I was lucky as in 3rd grade a local college wrestling coach started teaching us how to wrestle. (This is the style of wrestling that is used in America high schools and colleges.) I wrestled competitively through high school.

I am now in my 70's and have never found I needed anything else to defend myself. In my life I have had a few individuals pick fights with me wanting to box or just go after each other. In the few incidents that I did have to defend myself, I naturally went to my wrestling skills. I can get behind anyone and/or take them down with me on top of them with ease. Once on top I can control most anyone...except another wrestler or someone with a knife or gun!

One time a guy that started to fight with me with also went to 'wrestling' techniques right away. We had a quick, good match and ended up laughing and becoming friends...although the knees on our pants were ruined!
That is my training also, Think higher ground and lethal is a split-second decision. If the Threat has lethal arms, Lethal is the only decision necessary.

Not even Bruce Lee would dare challenge anyone skilled in Kirk Fu!

What I really loved about the UFC was that it gave martial artists and fans alike a strong and badly needed dose of reality. And while I think Bruce Lee was a great showman, I seriously doubt he would have survived one five-minute round with any known MMA fighter.

Bruce Lee admitted that he didn't compete because the rules restricted him from using deadly techniques that he considered essential for him to win.

Not really. We had some training in the Marines when learning gorilla tactics and when I was a cadet in the state police, we had about 10 days of training, but by no means am I a professional. My training wasn’t just one of the many types of martial arts. It was more like a little of this and a little of that. I had some Kung-fu and Jiu-Jitsu or Judo. The Marines taught Taekwondo. (Not sure about the spelling.) I enjoyed learning the Taekwondo the best. I thought it was easier to learn and can be applied to everyday self-defense tactics.

I always intended to continue my training, but never followed up on it. Something else I wish I would have done. I don’t know why we tell ourselves we are going to do something and then we never do. I enjoyed learning self-defense or martial arts. I only used it once during my police career, but nonetheless, it is worthwhile learning.

Then how did you become a Knight?????
By birth :)

No martial arts training only fight ever was a defensive fight was when I was 17. I was jumped by an jealous ex boyfriend of the girl I was dating. The fight didn't go well for him.
His parents sued my parents for their sons hospital bills. They lost, witnesses proved he started the fight.
