Are You "Young At Heart"?

I think wife and I are! I mean, we are dressing up for Halloween. The Halloween Party we are going to tomorrow night will have mainly 21 thru 40 year olds at it. It could be a shocker to them when we take off our helmets (Stormtrooper & Darth Vader) and they see just how old we really are! We also do other things that some folks, in their mid-60's, would think of as perhaps "childish". We have a Wii Game and play it. Don't think I met anyone our age that plays video games!

So, what about you.....are you "Young At Heart" and let that "inner child" come out and play?
 

I don't think so. BUT I was NEVER young at heart. I'm a Capricorn.. we are born old.

Earth is the ruling element for Capricorns which makes them down-to-earth, practical people. That's good CR, when you say "I AM YOUR FATHER!"...you will be old enough to be believable! :)

Last year, when wife dressed up as Princess Leia, I told her that she was more like Princess Leia's mom. One lady at our complex thought that was rude of me to say, but wife and I laughed about what I said and how the lady thought.

I don't get dressed up for Halloween..I do however buy sweets for children who knock my door..one year I was working late because it was the half yearly stocktake..I came home to find my front door and outside walls covered with broken eggs..

Last year..I got an extremely fat fairy..with her equally fat parents..asking for cookies/candy...

She already had a bag full..

But the demon in me felt like saying to her..''I can give you some cottage cheese and crispbreads!''
 
Last time we dressed up for Halloween, hubby was Danny Zuko.. T bird jacket and all... I was Sandy.. with a ponytail and a Pink Ladies Jacket. I have the pic I'll have to post it later.

Young at heart can mean a lot of different things. For someone who was not inclined to play games as a young person and still not inclined to play games now, I can still say that I think that I'm very young at heart. I'm open to new ideas, new thought processes, willing to change if need be...and in my experience in talking with other older folks, therein lies the rub. Are you open to new paradigms or is your philosophy more along the lines of 'I'll stick with what I know' or 'we don't need no new fangled gizmos!' kind of thinking.

My husband on the other hand is like you in that he has a daily appointment with his C.O.D. game and the only reason he doesn't play it more is because it makes his hand cramp up after a few hours.
 
Definitely young at heart, although I don't dress up or play any games. Like to laugh and enjoy life and nature, just like I did as a teen...groove to the music, new and oldies, etc.
 
Being "Young At Heart" can mean how a person acts.........fun to be with, acts somewhat-to-a-lot younger than they are, looking younger than they are and perhaps having/enjoying the electronic stuff of today. Could also mean driving a Sebring Touring Convertible or a Vet.......you know, a vehicle that is HOT, not necessarily one that is a 4-door sedan type. Having an iPhone, I-Pad, Blu-Ray DVD Player could be "Young At Heart" things.

Being too "Young At Heart" could also be taken as going thru a "2nd Childhood".
 
Mostly not, but I don't act like I am too old either. I act like maybe someone in their 30's or 40's. But I did play hop scotch with my 8 year old Granddaughter a few weeks ago. I am 6'2" and weigh 235#. We played out front of the house in the driveway. How silly do you think I looked?
 
Yes, we will be dressing up for Halloween [our grandson expects it] and we are going there for tea and then take him all round to friendly neighbours houses.My husband will be The Demon Headmaster and I will be a black cat-woman with long black wig and a cat mask with whiskers.It's great fun! I also make a large choc Halloween cake with orange icing and covered in monsters and pumkins.Our daughter and son-in-law dress up too, we don't say what we will be wearing so it's always a surprise.

About as silly as me? ;) I played hopscotch with my grandson in the back street during the summer, ended up with other kids in the street joining in. Great fun.
 
Seeing as my adult grandchildren call me their 'groovy grandma' I reckon I must be young at heart.:)

The other day I was visiting my eldest grandaughters new house with her two sisters when she said she should introduce me to her neighbour, a man about my age, when one of the others said...........it's alright grandma, you don't have to stay for breakfast'.:bigwink:
 
Inside me is a 12-year-old Inner Child that keeps getting my 67-year-old Outer Hag in deep doo-doo. In the last two years, that little b**ch has forced me to ride on one of the tallest roller coasters in America and the longest and steepest zip-line in America and convinced me I could hike the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon. But that's OK, I got my revenge.....I threw up on her twice.

Oh my gosh, are you doing a stand-up routine anywhere that I can come and watch? Please tell me you are and it's close enough for me to get to!
