Are your memories getting a little fuzzy?

A pastor goes to a nursing home for the first time to visit an elderly parishioner. As he is sitting there, he notices a bowl of peanuts beside her bed and takes one. As they continue their conversation, he can’t help himself and he eats one after another.
By the time they are through visiting, the bowl is empty. He says: “Mrs Jones, I’m so sorry, but I seem to have eaten all of your peanuts.”

“That’s okay,” she says. “They would have just sat there anyway. Without my teeth, all I can do is suck the chocolate off and put them back in the bowl.”

In the humor choice I read something that pretty much sums up where I am in memory.

Yesterday I walked into a room & remembered exactly why I went in.

Ok so it was the bathroom but hey I did remember.

Other than that sometimes I walk into a room & just stop to think about ------ why

A couple of years ago, I reconnected with an old Navy buddy of 50+ years ago. We shared an off base apartment for a year. None of the things he said happened, to me, happened. I was so surprised at how he remembered stuff. I lived with the guy and heard him gripe, but now, nope, everything was wonderful. He met a girl and was going on his last date with her-he was breaking up with her. He wasn't going to be tied down. He came back engaged. And they did get married. Somehow, he didn't remember that. So, which one of us has a crummy memory? I seem to have a memory of my parents at Gettysburg, but it's questionable they never went?????????

At present, I'm losing names of people
All people
Friends
Famous
All

When this happens, I go thru the alphabet
When a letter is inviting, I key on it, and go thru the alphabet for the second letter

So far, it works

But if I get to the letter 'U', I know I'm pretty much in trouble

Don't give up the nationality with using Z the most are Polish. Maybe you will get lucky with someone in that group
Oh, I go all the way thru the alphabet
It's just the law of averages drops off after the letter 'T'

I did find the last name of a guy I knew when using the letter 'U' as the second letter

Hollered out his name 'Bullock!'

Wife looked at me questioningly

Welcome to the Club.!!! I can remember things when I was 5 years old but can't remember what I had for my evening meal. My husband used to go out to the garage and stop and say "What did I come here for"? I used to say to him "Tie a rope around your waist then you can find your way back inside".

I call it "selective memory"! Sound great doesn't it. But, the reality of it is that you do not get to select what memories you actually remember...!
