I got an email through my horticultural society telling me this garden which I think of as a work of art is looking for organizations to maintain it as a public space. What amazes me is has gates on four sides that are always open to the public and has for many years.
It was built by a guy who started a meat processing business and so was able to buy and develope this large lot behind his own house. When his son was hit by a car he hired a concrete artist, a blacksmith artist for the railing, a garden designer to choose the plants and purchased several sculptures placed around the garden. The artists were set free to make a garden accessible to his disabled son and this is what they made. Shows what can happen when you enable the creatives to create.
