Went to see an exhibit of paintings and drawings by John Singer Sargent relating to his interest in Spain at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco a week ago.

Sargent was an American ex patriot born in Italy who died in England who studied painting in France. There are images you can find in that link too but here are my favorites that I took.

Mine too now thought I hadn’t known anything about him before, thinking of him only as a familiar name involved in portraiture. So much more than that. Love the painting you shared here too. What the heck here a couple more for the wonderful light.
