At least 10 people have been killed and 15 injured in a series of stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan

2 suspects stab 25 people killing 10 wounding 15? Stabbing is a lot of work with one person. They must be drugged up or something. Or they figured out how to kill quick and efficiently.

Hoping they catch and hang these murderers.

This is heinous. However, we Canadians no longer practice capital punishment.

That's what I'm starting to sense. Several witnesses and/or Daily Mail(I know) are say at least some of the murders were targeted. Probably why they started early in morning. Might be why they were able to elude authorities so far they might have had an escape plan. But one appears to have been injured so wether that slows them down or identifies him with a wound is another story
 
A few thoughts about this crime spree. MOST native households in Canada have at least one hunting rifle in the house. Using knives requires getting right up close to the victim. The Sanderson family appears to be one of the most influential ones on that reserve, with the Chief and several members of the tribal council all being named Sanderson, which is the same family name as the 2 killers. Ten dead and 15 wounded so far. The RCMP has brought in a couple of their ERT teams, with helicopters, and fixed wing aircraft, too. The search area is very rural, with lots of bush and places to hide. One of the crime scenes is a small town, which is not on a reserve. The CBC reports that the RCMP has broadcast a warning to their detachments as far away as Alberta and British Columbia and Manitoba , with a description of the car they were driving, but they may very well have stolen another vehicle along the way. In the US there would be jurisdictional issues between tribal police, the FBI, and local police over something like this. Is it similar in Canada?

No. The RCMP are the national Police service in Canada, and they are the ones conducting the investigation, and searching for the fugitives. Some First Nations have their own Police service, but their jurisdiction is limited to the geographical boundaries of their reserve lands. In Saskatchewan there are a few cities that have their own municipal Police services, but the RCMP cover all of the rest of the Province outside of those few cities, and the local Police work closely with them.

The Canadian Police Information Center ( CPIC ) links all the Police services in Canada, and in this case CPIC will be used to relay information to all Police services in Western Canada. One of the basic differences between Canada and the USA is that there is only ONE criminal code in Canada, which applies in all parts of our country. This is a unusual case, due to the method of attack, the weapons being knives , and the wide spread geographic area of those attacks, against so many people. I am sure that RCMP intelligence are busy trying to track their mobile phones, and perhaps the car if it has a GPS system in it. This case will be a huge investigation with so many victims, so many crime scenes, so many witnesses to interview, and so many officers involved. I can see the RCMP bringing in extra manpower from other Provinces, to supplement the ones normally stationed in the area. Northern Saskatchewan is similar to northern Montana or Dakota, in geographic nature. JimB.
