At least 15 children dead from malnutrition, dehydration at Gaza hospital

Well, unlike you probably, I spent the time finding out. And by the way, I started from a neutral position on the issue having heard from news reports, all about the suicide bombers years ago, pizza restaurants blown up, etc. I really knew nothing beyond that. Then when Ahmad Tibi, a member of the Knesset, walked out on Stephen Harper making a speech there, I wondered why, and I put in the time to find out.

I may have said it before, but I'll say it again. I focussed on information coming out of Israel's two news agencies (Haaretz & Times of Israel), Israeli human rights organizations (B'tselem & Jewish Voices for Peace), a book about the history of Israel, Jimmy Harper's book, Peace, Not Apartheid, and an ex-IDF soldier named Miko Peled (who's General father, Mattityahu Peled was at the heart of the 6 day war) who became a peace activist himself, fighting for the Palestinians.

I've also listened to numerous ex-IDF soldiers with the organization, Breaking the Silence, who also are outspoken about the kind of violence the IDF meted out to the Palestinians on a daily basis around the country and particularly in the W. Bank. And I looked at UN reports on events and issues in the region because with Israel having been a member of the UN since 1949, if that organization is calling for them to change their actions, that says a great deal too.

I also avoided looking at any Palestinian authors and spokesmen and aid agencies, because obviously they'd have their own biases. And I figured if Jewish voices were speaking out on the issue, they were more trustworthy.

I don't 'know' Pepper. I educated myself on the situation instead of listening to Israeli propaganda where there is a vested interest in spinning the story so that they come out as the victim always.

I know you and others here would likewise, love to educate yourself a little too, just you have another perspective to consider. This video with Eran Efrati speaking about his experience as an IDF, should be very enlightening.

Here's the first video of Miko's that I ever saw as he spoke at some church in Seattle, Washington. He explained the history of Israel from the 6 Day War on. Very interesting speaker and a very intelligent man with a really interesting story.
And yet, you don't know what you're talking about.

For a people who have been neighbors to a people who want to kill every last one of them, the Israelis have been excruciatingly patient and far more civil than almost all other countries would be....any countries that wanted to survive.

I'm sad to say that listening to folks that I've liked and respected fall into this hateful morass is sad. I can almost tell folks religious beliefs from the hate that's being spewed.

Maybe viewpoints of folks that are neither Jews nor Palestinians would put things in a more honest perspective.

You've got to go back a lot further than the past year or two if you are actually interested in where the hate began and what contributed to it.

In the meantime it would be nice to refrain from cheering on the massacre of the helpless and children.

And I just found out that government of Canada purchased $43 million worth of military missiles from Israel AND gave that government $28 million worth of missiles and bombs....to use in Gaza. When I was young, we were a Peace Keeper nation. But not now.
I guess YOU slept through the years from 2001 to 2014 when CANADA was fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan ? Over 40,000 Canadian Forces members served there over the years, and in many cases they were there 2 or 3 times on combat missions. Your so called "Peace Keeping " was just ONE part of what Canadian soldiers are capable of doing. You seem to forget that the CAF are NOT social workers in uniforms. Their primary function is to "Close with our enemies, and kill them, as effectively as possible".

Your position is very clear for all here to see. Many other Canadians don't see it your way. Thank goodness, for that. Jimb.

In the meantime it would be nice to refrain from cheering on the massacre of the helpless and children.
My heart and mind break for those children Dave, and I will not permit you to think differently. I will admit I should reply nothing to people I hold in disrespect. My bad.

I personally know dozens of Palestinian & Israeli Americans. I get the scoop, whether I like hearing it or not.
