Attention Online Shoppers. Amazon going on strike Black Friday to Cyber Monday

I had a delivery direct from Amazon yesterday... and will be putting an order in today.
This is an annual event and has been happening for five years now... not sure why it's suddenly huge news.... probably some media outlet decided to make it sound dire when other years there was barely a mention.

Not that it really matters, but that's not what Winco stands for. The name was changed from Waremart back in 1999 to Winco which stands for winning company. ;)
btw, they are also in Montana, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Oklahoma, and Texas.
That’s interesting Bob. Obviously what I read on the internet about Winco was wrong. Besides having good quality food and cheap prices the people that work there are really nice. People tend to stay as I have seen the same workers for years.

Yes, they are one of the few employee owned grocery chains in the top 50. As such they have an ESOP (employee stock ownership plan) that grows the longer you are there and also grows as the company expands. Many workers who have been there for years are now going to have a very comfortable retirement.

The company has a simple plan. They offer a huge selection of everything, focus on volume instead of markup, their employees get to share the profitability, they carry no debt, they rarely advertise, and keep overhead to a minimum so it can be passed along to customers. They have been very successful with that formula.

Unfortunately, our Winco here doesn't have a pharmacy or a floral department. Floral department's not so important but being near a pharmacy sure is.

I suddenly realized last light around 9:30 PM that I had forgotten to get some important medical supplies from Amazon. I'm recovering from a bad virus infection and not going out yet. I got online and ordered it from Amazon, and they promised it would get here this morning between 4 and 8. I thought, "Oh, sure!" but they were as good as their word. I opened the door around 8:00 and there was the box!

For this reason, I am a big fan of Amazon.

I'd rather not have to use Amazon but since I'm out in the middle of nowhere within walking distance of nothing but a gas station minimarket (and it's reeeeealy mini), sometimes they're my only option.
