August 2020, Tell US about YOUR day...

We're busy renovating our bathrooms. We decided to make them all accessible while we were able to do the job ourselves.
We took out a tub/shower to be replaced by a walk in~roll in large, open shower. Great for walkers and wheel chairs without a barrier.
The sink will be replaced with a pedestal sink. New, updated medicine cabinet. Chair height toilet to replace standard one.
In the autumn we will start on the other bathroom.
Since it's mid summer with not much going on, it's a good time to work indoors. My husband is so happy and enthusiastic to have a project to work on. We're having to live in a construction zone, but it'll all be finished soon and will be so well worth the inconvenience.
It's good to have something positive to looks froward to.

We got our new washing machine delivered this morning and the delivery and installation went very smoothly.

My wife had to do a load earlier this week at our laundromat. There she was, a little grey haired lady minding her own business and reading her kindle when one of our local idiots started giving her grief because she was wearing a mask.
He accused her of being one of those liberals, the kind that put old people in nursing homes where they can get sick and die. He accuser her of committing genocide. The only other person in the room was a little black woman who was minding her own business, except for laughing at this mental midget.

My wife kept her cool, but we are both aghast at this guy's behavior. We sped up delivery of our washing machine that afternoon.

Finished some mowing, back inside by noon!!

Walked doggie, went to the market and got some baby leaf spinach, straightened things out around here. Now i am going to chop up some cauliflower. Then I'm going to make some western ribs with barbeque sauce--baking them.

Well today was pretty good, except it made me realize my memory isn't so good. I got a call today from one of my older cousins. We were talking about the past and she reminded me of when I was a teenager and helped at her Dad's store. She remembered a little boy that would come in everyday. He never believed me when I said my name was Barbara. He kept saying I lied and that he knew who I was. My cousin said to me "Who did he think you were ?" Patty Duke or Sally Fields. I remember the little boy but I can't remember which one I was. So now I'm trying to remember, but I didn't think I looked like either of them. Why did my cousin have to bring it up and make me try to remember .LOLOIP (2).jpgOIP (1).jpg

We've had rather extreme heat the past few days. Then, this afternoon a strong cold front came through, and we've had a huge amount of rain. I looked at my rain gauge before sundown, and it was showing almost 3 inches....and we may get as much as 5 inches by morning. We are under a flash flood warning....several roads under water in the area. Our creek is running really strong, but we're at least 20 feet above it, so no problem. If the forecast is correct, this coming week will be real mild for this time of year....daytime highs in the 70's, and night in the lower 60's.

I only put August up so I would not forget to do it... But it looks like everyone has started the month a little early... Is everyone trying to put an end to July? Did some weed whacking today, that's all that seems to be growing on the burnt grass... Had a pretty busy day with that, taking care of the grandson, and do the housing chores since Lorie is suffering from a bladder infection right now... Haven't been this tired for a while... Anyways... Please keep Safe... and God Bless everyone...

I would love to see a photo if you can.

Replaced a pto shaft and seal on a John Deere 2640 tractor this morning, then jumped back on the motor removal and re-build on wife's trike. No fun there.
Before and after. :(

Oh I don't envy you for this job, but it sure looks like you have the components laid out in a methodical way for when you reassemble that bike. Good on you!

The first pic reminds me of Sally Fields. Very pretty indeed @Sassycakes

We spent the last couple of days with our son and one of our grandsons at the lake doing some chores and of course enjoying the water. It was nice seeing the grandson and catching up as we haven't seen him since January. The long drive back home went well as we took the toll highway for most of the way, expensive but overall was worth it IMO.

Good morning Friends...
Haven't done lots since we last wrote... Had all kinds of plans for yesterday, but the neighbour and I met for the 1st time since Enbridge took out a big amount of tree's between us on our properties for their easement. I can almost stand in the middle of my property now, and see the next concession down the ways of half a mile... I'll need to get the pictures off my phone and put them up so you can see what I am talking about. He moved in almost six years ago, and we are now acquainted, we have lots and lots of friends in common.

We talked about all kinds of things, and one of them is I should get a trail camera to see what is on my property at night as in wildlife. He has several of them, and I cannot believe how good the pictures are and what is on our properties. I know we have deer, bear, and coyotes... but he said I would be very surprised on the amount of what we have... So in the next few weeks, I am going to buy a trail camera...

Today it's supposed to rain all day, so I'd love to get in the shop, finish cleaning it up, and have lots to begin to work on... Plus have some equipment I need to work on, and get going again that I picked up scrapping like a snowblower, weed wacker, and 2 chainsaws.

Anyways Friends, I hope YOU all have a wonderful Sunday... Keep Safe... God Bless

This morning I'll be walking over to my close friends,Marcia&Dave's house for our weekly chat
Marcia and I will take family dog,Aker my 'buddy boy' for his 1st walk of the day
Its funny even though I'm wearing a mask,'bb' still recognizes my voice happy to see me wagging his tail, makes my day
After Marcia&I returned after taking 'buddy boy' for his walk,we came back into the house for couple minutes of conversation,Dave was there,we were wearing masks.Marcia surprised me with a gift,a dolphin mask because she knows I love dolphins{not the football team} I asked where she got it,ironically it was one of the sites I was looking at couple days ago, profusely thanked her.I wanted to hug her as we used to do before I left. It made my day, always nice to have a couple different masks to wear outside

Sunny and warm today, we'd planned to go into the city this weekend then changed it at the last moment when we found out there were BLM/Slave compensation demonstration/protest in the city.. by a group calling themselves Forever Family, whom we've never heard of..

so we stayed home, and instead re-lined the workshop roof with insulation... that took all day, hubs got finished around 8.30pm, in the meantime I was deep cleaning all the window frames inside and out..

The we were going to go and have Sunday lunch at the pub garden, first time since before March ..but decided it's best to get these jobs done while the sun shines, and before any promised drizzle arrives

This morning hubs has just installed a bulkhead light into one small brick shed we've had for many years where I keep a deep freeze, and have always used a torch if going in there in the dark.. now he's about to have lunch and afterwards is going to install mains electricity into the workshop at the far end of the garden where he stores his tools.. we already have solar light in there, but usually he's tired of running a cable into the workshop from the barn when he needs it..so mains electric it is..

Off to have a quick lunch now in the garden
