August 2020, Tell US about YOUR day...

Holly, thanks for sharing your lovely pics
My early morning walk at 6:30 to get Bflo News&WSJ,didn't see anybody, not much traffic either, temp was 65. After I returned watered the plants/flowers in our community garden
This morning,I'll be strolling 2 blocks over to close friends,Marcia&Dave's house for our weekly chat, see family dog,Aker{pharoh hound} aka 'buddy boy'.He gets excited when he hears my voice even with the mask on,wagging his tail. When I bend down to hug him,he likes to lick my ear or nose
This afternoon, may sit outside with my next door neighbor,Pat if she feels up to it,or I'll read my book in the shade, going to be a warm day around 85

Had my new office furniture delivery today. Those guys don't look strong but they were lifting this very heavy stuff like it was lego... We can't put it into the office yet, that still has to be all decorated during the next week in my preferred colours , but at least it's all here ready to go in..

Very warm and humid today at 92 degrees, temps not going to dip lower than 70 tonight

This morning,I'm taking a long walk 7 blocks to my church, then to Walgreens
My church closed in mid-March,will have a short visit via social distancing/masks with 2 women who work in our business office {in normal times I volunteer Thurs&Fri} who I miss ,haven't seen in 6 months. The visit was pre- arranged a week ago
Walgreens is a block away, need a couple items.if I have the energy I may walk home

Yesterday we got a lot done, stripping the office room in prep for the beginning of the renovations today ..also I got the Ivy on the brick walled garden shed trimmed back, The roses pruned at the front and the bay and choisya shrubs also trimmed.. all in 96 deg temps, verrrry hot work!!

Cleared out the kitchen cupboard also yesterday which houses all the foils and baking papers etc, sorted them into new boxes and it all looks very organised now...

Took delivery of a new blind for the new office room..

Late last night I had a big clear out of cupboards upstairs in the old office, so none of that stuff goes back into the newly renovated one..

Today it's 92 degrees, horrendously humid too.. I've been in the back garden strimming the roots of the Ivy on our Ivy pole, and hanging flower baskets on our trellis..

Hubs is getting along very quickly with the painting upstairs , and the colour I chose for one feature wall is striking and looks as good on the wall as I hoped it would.. 🥰

It's 2pm , so now I'm going to chill out outside in the garden with a cold drink and listen to a political debate on my headphones :D

Update at 7pm... I baked some chicken thighs coated in Chinese 5 spice, this afternoon which I've just had for dinner with some buttered Mange tout , can't eat much in this heat...

.... helped o/h steady some wood he was mitring and sawing in the barn .. then took myself off to town to pick up some cold juices and beer... just gotta help clear up some stuff upstairs, and then I'll be done for today I hope..

My early morning walk this morning around 6:30,walked around the block, felt cool around 65. When I came back, watered the plants/flowers in our community garden, then walked up 3 flights of stairs to my apt
Around 10:30,went on a weekly 'road trip' with friend,Mary we went to Kohl's.I was looking for 2 items a dog bracelet I had seen online I liked,no surprise they didn't have it.I bought the other item instead
When we got home,I went online to Etsy looked at their dog bracelets, found something I liked will be getting next week
This afternoon after lunch&nap, walked down the street to mailbx,it was hot/humid,came back quickly and sat by my fans for rest of the day

This morning around 6:50 went on my early morning walk went 3 blocks, didn't see anybody out and about except for 2 runners. It was cooler/less humid then its been for the past couple mornings at this time, was 63
I like to change my walking routes from time to time, so this morning I walked down the street where I grew up which is 3 blocks from my apt building. I walked past my childhood home which basically looks the same. The new owners who bought it 2 yrs ago{they are the 4th owner} have planted lovely flowers out front
The rest of my day read Bflo News, take another walk after lunch, look forward to my Sun 'family Zoom meeting' at 4
watch hockey game at 6:30,hoping my team,Las Vegas Golden KNights can sweep Chicago Blackhawks move on into the next round

Hello Folks, I am just letting you know, this was my last month posting this thread... if you would like it to continue, then someone else needs to post it... It was fun while it lasted...

It was always great to read about all your days...

Thanks, Ladies/Guys
Mike

This morning I woke up at 5:30,couldn't get back to sleep
On my morning walk around 6:10,was still a bit dark outside, was wearing my yellow reflector vest
This morning I'll be calling Canopy of Neighbors members from home like I've been doing since mid-March.I had a conf call with Sasha{exe director}&Wendy{vol director},Howie{the other volunteer who calls members} this past week, sadly it won't be possible to return to the office until Jan 2021.In the meantime,I'll be telling members they'll be getting a letter in the mail next month, explaining how we are going to do our programs differently. We still have volunteer drivers who take members to dr's appt, grocery shopping
After calling members, plan to take a mid morn walk, rest of my day read NYT,and my book. After dinner tackle the NYT crossword puzzle

Trying to get my Sam's Club membership cancelled this afternoon. This is my 2nd time on hold. There's a 27 min wait. The wait is worse online and then they usually make me call the number anyway so here I sit. I haven't even had anything to eat yet.

Otherwise just got a date with my laundry and dishes. Fun times.

sorry to hear that @charry
hope things improve soon.

I had a root canal this afternoon....it was an old crown with the root starting to fail. My Dentist is pretty good, and he was able to drill through the old crown and fix the root....I hope. Now, hopefully, my cheek/lips will return to normal so I can eat some Supper without biting myself.

We're busy renovating our bathrooms. We decided to make them all accessible while we were able to do the job ourselves.
We took out a tub/shower to be replaced by a walk in~roll in large, open shower. Great for walkers and wheel chairs without a barrier.
The sink will be replaced with a pedestal sink. New, updated medicine cabinet. Chair height toilet to replace standard one.
In the autumn we will start on the other bathroom.
Since it's mid summer with not much going on, it's a good time to work indoors. My husband is so happy and enthusiastic to have a project to work on. We're having to live in a construction zone, but it'll all be finished soon and will be so well worth the inconvenience.
It's good to have something positive to looks froward to.
I think that's great. My brother bought a new house that had one fully accessible bathroom and he told me many of the new houses are being built that way now. What a good idea.

On my early walk around 6:30,it still felt humid as if we never had the rain.I watered the plants/flowers in our community garden walked up 3 flights of stairs to my apt
My friend,Mary&I are going on our weekly'road trip',today someplace different.Party City because I need to find some birthday/anniv cards

Due to wildfire smoke smell, in the AM, we can't go outside at all. Want to take our boat out again, but definitely can't with this smell. We like to take it out around 11AM, but that hasn't been possible.

So, on top of this virus crap, now we have to contend with this smell. This sure hasn't been the summer we moved back to Colorado for!

Not to much going on here as usual. Got a package from Amazon...eye drops for the wife. She has dry eye and uses drops daily. Drove up to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and to get out of the house for a few minutes. Temp was 91 degrees and heat index 105. Didn’t stay out to long.

I've been awake since 6:30 cuz I had an early meeting at work. Home now & managed to get a gaming acct and download a game I've been wanting. Now I'm gonna go eat. 😋

So are we keeping this thread going or not? Do you all have any opposition to my taking it over? Does someone else want to do it?
