We've done this...we've all looked for her.. she's nowhere to be found.. and some of us have her personal email address, and she's not replying.

Either she just wants nothing to do with the forum anymore.. or she's ill...

I don't know if that'd true Deb. Aunt Bea can more than stand up for herself.. and in any case.. that wouldn't explain her non reply to emails from those of us who have her personal contact details

nope don't believe that. Aunt Bea is a strong character... She's a personal friend of a few of us who have her email address, and she hasn't replied to the emails..

I hate to "say" it but maybe Aunt Bea is no longer with us. Obviously, I hope that's not the case but the fact that she isn't even responding to emails makes me wonder.

I don't really know her but I'm a relatively new member here also. I do hope she is doing well and just taking a break.

I will say that there have been some really ugly threads here lately. If you dare to disagree with a majority opinion you could start wondering why you bother coming here. I remember being told when I first came what a friendly place it was and how nice everyone was. That is certainly true of most people here but recently I have seen outright attacks on other members. It reminds me of high school sometimes. I guess mean girls and guys never change.

sadly it's much easier for those who wish to bully.. even if in real life they're too scared to say Boo to a Goose, but they can sit behind a screen and be as nasty as they want..

Maybe that's why I just started noticing them recently. I really haven't paid attention to how long people have been here, maybe because almost everyone has been here longer than I have.

I think it's not unusual to want to set someone straight sometimes but maturity should tell you to wait until you can do it in a civil way. Get up and walk around the house a few times. Besides that, you could want to pull someone's hair out in one thread and find yourself in complete agreement with that person in the next one. Geez.

Not me.. I just put the horrific ones on ignore the very first time they try and attack me..... done..never have to read their BS ever again..

I miss Aunt Bea's posts. Also RFW and dseag2. I know some people just tire of the internet and I hope they are all enjoying life and might perhaps pop back to say hello some day.

People disappear from forums all the time. Perhaps some members have died, and others get turned off for one reason or another. Every time you open your mouth in a public forum, you leave yourself open to not only disagreements but also nasty and uncalled-for comments, passive-aggressive attacks, and outright attacks. We've all seen it, and most of us have been subjected to it in some form. Age is not an indication of maturity, that's for sure. Sooner or later, it becomes clear who you need to avoid. Some people have been banned for reasons we'll never know because talking about them in the open forum isn't allowed. Every time banning comes up, the thread is deleted. There are other senior forums and I suspect that's where you'll find those people. Perhaps Aunt Bea has found her way to one or more of them. Whatever the case might be, I hope she's alive and well.
