Australia hosts lots of foreign tourists

I lived for a time in Brecia Northern Italy for a short time with my job. back around 1990....I haven't been back since
Yes it has changed so much that as you know they have lost a lot of cruises , tourism period .

In fact even colleges which had trips there to see coliseums , etc stopped due to safety .

Though my father was Sicilian and I speak Italian I have never been there but again everyone I know who used to stopped and not due to age but said no longer safe , my sister does love it .
The trouble is Italy & France, Sweden as well as Germany have been absolutely inundated with illegal immigrants, and the crime ratte has gone sky high because of that.... however tere's still many parts unaffected, so really if you get a chance to go to Italy you must try and go....

Yes due to lack of jobs for them and not able to assimilate , some not wanting the crime rate has gone up and that is not changing .

This is why as you are aware of a right wing movement has taken serious hold now in Europe with some places more then others .

My sister and her husband are in Verona which going by videos it is way to crowded for me but both retired there he was Polizia di Stato there .

She worked in NYC some perfume company then transferred to Italy because we all speak Italian and they wanted a Rep there but though she was born in Albany once she got married to one of their own she got her citizenship there going back to 1980 but think now years waiting period .

I know Verona very well it was the largest city close to us in Castel Mella Brescia....

Verona was about 70 km away.. about an hour, so we would go there for shopping or nightlife....

No I dont think it is anything to do with religion - is just an asian style toilets vs western style toilets thing
I am not sure about that. I was once told by a pilot that flew International routes that when he flew to Singapore for the first time, he noticed that inside the stalls there two types or toilets. One regular type as we are accustomed to and one stall that only had a hole in the floor. He said he thought someone took the toilet out and didn't put a sign on the door.

When he told the other pilot about this, he, of course, laughed and said it was a religious thing that they do by not allowing the touching of their bum. That's about the best way to put it. Is it true or not? I really don't know. I think he said the Muslims over there were the people abiding by this rule.

I think he was pulling your leg.

when we have visited Asian countries like China, Cambodia, Vietnam - there are western and asian toilets in city/tourist areas - and asian toilets only in rural or less touristy areas.
Cambodia and Vietnam are mostly Buddhist countries and China is not very Muslim either. Nor is India, which was mentioned before.

Did you find it well run , etc ?

Edit , I loved Anthony Bourdain show not sure if you heard of it and he was in China several times the cuisine looked great .

we all live very close in Europe..... our countries are small compared to the US..for example in th UK the whole Island is smaller than Oregon, yet we have close to 70 million people living here compared to 4 million in Oregon.. so we live cheek by jowl by and large...

But do you gossip as much as we do ?

Do you speak and are able to "speak"? One of the qualifications of an interepreter is dry goods. A translator works magic.
Yes my father was Sicilian my mother was Cuban so speak both and as you know similar .

I can not fathom anyone hiring me an an interpreter , lol I'm a retired Plumber now in Miami y aqui se habla espanol .
