Australia is not the same as America

It’s been joked that adolescent kids in my part of the states have a uniform of sorts consisting of what is considered trendy or cool at the time. This ideally consists of well-worn designer threads and athletic shoes for the boys that cost well over $100 a pair. If the name of an athlete or rapper is attached to said footwear, all the better. Kids here wear their self-concept on their feet…

Met an Australian dairy farmer over on a short holiday with his family this week, who lives about three hours drive from Brisbane.

Very friendly and interesting guy who my mate and I hope to try to keep in touch with via email, (my mate says he'd like to visit him too, as I would but doubt I will get around to it).

School uniforms are still a good thing, and I wasn't sure whether all school here have them now before reading this thread. I hope children enjoy their schooling as much as I did, and are as lucky as I felt I was in the quality of teaching and school ethos, (my mate had the opposite experience, saying he hated every day at his school though).
