Yes, some Australians do want a ban on Muslim immigration and a couple of federal politicians have echoed these views.
They do not represent majority opinion. Australia is not going to return to anything like the White Australia Policy any time soon.

On the whole, we manage a very diverse population very well and have learned to get along pretty harmoniously.
Most community angst seems to surround the establishment of new mosques. It is a NIMBY thing.
